General Description

We are seeking an outside Mechanical & Instrument Services Sales Manager to support customers in South Carolina. The position will focus on prospecting and growing new service accounts and support Final Control Account Managers with existing customers.  The ideal candidate will be able to successfully navigate industrial manufacturing facilities and establish relationships at all levels of the organization.  We are looking for a candidate that is eager to learn our solutions, products, services and processes. The SSM must understand the customers’ business, identify customer needs and business drivers, be aware of the customers’ organizational dynamics, and develop a service account strategy to profitably grow a portfolio of services designed to help our customers increase the productivity and profitability of their plants. The SSM must be technically sound and able to explain to customers our service solution capabilities and what differentiates us from our competitors.

Specific Responsibilities

Responsible for Account Level Service Sales growth in South Carolina.  Responsible for Mechanical, Valve, & Instrument Service Deliverables to R.E. Mason customers for both shop and field services. During the initial development of an account, take responsibility for coordinating process execution for safety, scope, schedule, budget and quality of work for outages and field service events.  Work closely with internal Sales and Service associates to ensure timely planning and execution of industrial service business.

  • Grow Business Development Accounts by working directly with customers to provide service solutions.
  • Work with R.E. Mason Account Managers to sell and integrate valves services into overall account plans at strategic customers
  • Travel to meet customers, present deliverables and benefits, close business. 
  • Utilizing a good understanding of the customers’ needs and of the growth potential, he/she will plan, organize, coordinate and execute market development strategies. 
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders at each site to help them achieve their business objectives. 
  • Lead the proposal process working with Inside Sales to deliver quality proposals that meet the customer’s needs 
  • Analyze performance against budget, interpret sales results, profitability and identify market and customer trends. 
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge and understanding of all Products and Services including Control Valves, Isolation Valves, Safety Relief Valves, Actuation, Regulators, and Instrumentation
  • Provide regular status reports to Sales Management of the progress on account objectives and other metrics established for the territory. 
  • Control valve, Automatic on/off valve, manual isolation valve and safety relief valve technical knowledge
  • Provide technical sales detail required to meet customer scope expectations while developing service proposals with the R.E. Mason Services Sales Team
  • Work with New Customers to oversee planning and execution, of field service and shop repair utilizing the established Outage Management Program

Travel within territory South Carolina - 75%.

Required Education and Experience

  • Knowledge of process control and equipment applications for the industrial valve and instrument market
  • 2 year Technical Degree (or) Equivalent experience
  • 5 years of experience within the valve service industry, industrial plant maintenance or valve sales
