Senior Manager, Web Strategist
About Remote
We encourage every member of the Remote team to bring their talents, experiences and culture to the table to help us build the best-in-class HR platform.
About the Role
Remote is entering a pivotal stage of growth — and our website is at the heart of that journey. We’re looking for a Leader of Web Strategy to take full ownership of our global web presence and lead it as a mission-critical channel for brand, product, and revenue growth. This is not just a leadership role — it’s a high-impact opportunity to shape how millions experience Remote online.
You’ll be responsible for the strategic direction, performance, and governance of Remote’s website and digital experience. You will lead a cross-functional team, starting with two direct reports (SEO and CRO leads) and will also be accountable for day-to-day execution across four engineers embedded within the engineering organization.
This role reports into the Marketing org and works closely with Product, Engineering, Brand, and Revenue leaders. You will be the central decision-maker and strategic owner of one of Remote’s most visible and valuable digital assets.
What You'll Do
- Own Remote’s entire web strategy and execution — including roadmap, architecture, UX, content, performance, SEO, CRO, and compliance.
- Lead and scale a cross-functional team, including direct oversight of SEO and CRO functions, and matrixed leadership of an embedded engineering pod.
- Set the vision for the website as a core business driver, translating company-level goals into a high-performing web ecosystem that drives user acquisition, engagement, and revenue.
- Serve as the single point of accountability for web KPIs and experience across all domains and user journeys.
- Build strong partnerships across Marketing, Product, Engineering, and Design to ensure seamless collaboration and execution.
- Drive site governance, accessibility, brand consistency, localization, and scalability as we grow into new markets and segments.
- Champion a test-and-learn culture, leveraging data and experimentation to drive continuous improvements in site performance and user experience.
What You Bring
- Proven experience in web strategy leadership roles, ideally in high-growth or global B2B SaaS environments.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional digital teams, including direct management of strategists and influence over engineering and design resources.
- Deep understanding of modern web architecture, CMS systems, performance optimization, SEO, UX/CX, and analytics.
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to inspire, coach, and retain high-performing talent in a distributed environment.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to connect high-level vision to detailed execution and cross-team orchestration.
- Highly collaborative, with a track record of influencing stakeholders and aligning multiple teams toward shared outcomes.
- Fluent in English; experience working remotely or in a globally distributed team is a plus.
