We are seeking an exceptionally intelligent and commercially-minded Legal Counsel to join our team. This role requires a sharp legal mind with extensive experience in commercial law, particularly in negotiating and reviewing complex vendor agreements. You will be instrumental in protecting Remote's interests while enabling business growth through strategic legal support.
In this role, you will take center stage in managing high-impact commercial agreements that directly shape the trajectory of Remote’s global operations. You won't just be reviewing contracts in a silo; you’ll act as a strategic partner, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams in product, sales, and operations to drive meaningful business outcomes. This is a unique opportunity to tackle cutting-edge legal challenges within the evolving HR tech landscape, applying your expertise in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where your legal insights don't just mitigate risk but they actively influence company strategy.
What you bring
- Rigorous legal training at a reputable law firm and best practices
- Significant experience reviewing, drafting, and negotiating vendor agreements, SaaS contracts, and other commercial contracts
- Understand business objectives and can provide practical, business-oriented legal advice that balances risk with opportunity
- Quickly grasps complex issues, identify risks, and propose creative solutions
- Demonstrates strong automation and AI capabilities
- Writes and speaks fluent English
- It's not required to have experience working remotely, but considered a plus
Key Responsibilities
- Review, draft, and negotiate a high volume of vendor agreements, ensuring favorable terms and risk mitigation
- Provide strategic commercial legal advice to business stakeholders across the organization
- Develop and maintain contract templates, playbooks, and legal processes to scale efficiently
- Collaborate with procurement, finance, and operations teams to support vendor onboarding and management
- Identify legal risks and opportunities in commercial relationships and provide clear, actionable guidance
- Stay current on relevant laws and regulations affecting commercial contracts in multiple jurisdictions

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location, and our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay for the successful candidate in this role is dependent upon many factors such as location, transferable or job-related skills, work experience, relevant training, business needs, and market demands. The base salary range may be subject to change.

Therefore, all compensation changes associated with an internal move will be reviewed by the Total Rewards & People Enablement team on a case by case basis.
The annual salary range for this full-time position is
$1 - $3 USD
