Senior Salesforce Engineer

Remote

Job Title:

Senior Salesforce Engineer

Department:

Integrations

Position Description

The Senior Salesforce Engineer owns technical delivery end to end — translating business requirements into secure, high-performing architectures and driving solutions from concept through production. This role serves as a trusted technical advisor and informal team leader, bringing structure to planning and delivery processes, mentoring junior developers, and establishing development standards. The ideal candidate operates with a high degree of autonomy, balancing immediate delivery needs with long-term system health, and continuously grows both their technical depth and leadership capabilities to elevate overall team effectiveness.

Duties & Responsibilities

Technical Delivery

  • Design and build scalable Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flow, and APIs
  • Develop and maintain integrations with external systems using REST/SOAP, middleware, and event-driven patterns
  • Own data model design, security configuration, and performance optimization
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex platform issues
  • Identify opportunities to improve system efficiency, reliability, and automation through continuous optimization

Architecture & Planning

  • Contribute to architectural decisions in collaboration with senior team members
  • Translate business requirements into clear technical approaches and actionable delivery plans
  • Drive decisions that balance immediate priorities with system stability, scalability, and technical debt reduction

Project & Stakeholder Management

  • Own initiatives end to end, proactively managing timelines, risks, and dependencies without reliance on a dedicated project manager
  • Bring structure and clarity to how work is planned, tracked, and communicated across the team
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor, influencing decisions through expertise and sound judgment

Team Leadership & Growth

  • Mentor junior developers and contribute to development standards and best practices
  • Continuously expand technical and leadership capabilities to improve team delivery outcomes

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • 5–10+ years of Salesforce development experience
  • Advanced proficiency with Apex, LWC, Salesforce declarative tools, and platform services
  • Experience building integrations using REST/SOAP APIs and event-driven approaches
  • Demonstrated ability to independently organize, plan, and deliver technical work from concept through production
  • Solid understanding of Salesforce data model, security model, and governor limits
  • Proven experience in Agile environments, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, estimation, and release cycles (e.g., Jira)
  • Ability to break down and communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Salesforce certifications strongly preferred (Platform Developer I/II, App Builder, or similar)
  • Experience with Snowflake, CloverDX, or similar data/integration platforms
  • Exposure to AI-enabled solutions or automation initiatives
