VP, Marketing & Comms

Remote

Location: Fully remote, with occasional travel

Reports to: Chief Growth Officer

Ren is on a mission to make sure every dollar meant to do good finds its way there. As Vice President of Corporate Marketing and Communications, you will shape how Ren shows up for the advisors and donors who make that happen, across content, PR, internal communications, paid media, and events for Ren, and Ren-managed brands, including Renaissance Charitable Foundation (RCF), American Endowment Foundation (AEF), and more. We're looking for a dynamic, entrepreneurial, performance-driven leader who thinks big, moves fast, and can lead a high-performing team to build the brand and carry our story to the market.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead the Team

  • Lead a talented, multi-disciplinary team spanning content, PR, internal communications, paid media, and events
  • Set the vision and tone for how the team operates, and the day-to-day rhythm for how CMC partners with Growth leadership and other stakeholders across the business
  • Set clear KPIs for the team, driving a performance-driven culture grounded in shared goals, clear accountability, and operational excellence
  • Coach and develop the team, growing their skills and building the next generation of marketing leaders
  • Direct agency partners at the strategic level, holding them accountable to outcomes
  • Champion testing and experimentation, and lead innovation in how the team works, from AI-enabled content and workflows to emerging channels, keeping CMC ahead of the category

Build the Brand

  • Define the brand vision and own company-wide understanding and adoption, ensuring a cohesive narrative, voice, look, and feel across Ren, RCF, and AEF, both internally and by our customers
  • Own our external audience segmentation framework, recognizing the unique needs and interests of our various independent yet connected audiences, leading the team to weave a throughline between all
  • Integrate content, PR, internal communications, paid media, and events into one coherent brand experience across every advisor, partner, and donor touchpoint
  • Translate that strategy into a roadmap tied to Ren's growth objectives: brand awareness, advisor and donor preference, and independent advisor acquisition
  • Lead the strategy for the industry-wide DAF Giving Summit and oversee the planning and content teams and vendors that bring it to life
  • Establish our brand as the category's most trusted and forward-thinking player in philanthropy

Generate demand

  • Convert brand trust to a growing pipeline of potential stakeholders and partners who want to talk with us
  • Design nurture and lifecycle programs that move advisors and donors from first touch to first gift, and from first gift to deeper engagement
  • Determine the right channel mix and cadence to reach advisors and donors
  • Oversee paid media investment and amplification, ensuring every channel reinforces the brand vision and narrative, and drive cost efficiencies against CPM/CPA benchmarks
  • Lead the team to develop the optimal distribution structure across organic, paid, and earned, that gets the right message in front of the right audience at the right time
  • Build attribution and reporting that show which programs drive pipeline and revenue, and shift investment toward what works

Drive the Communications Engine

  • Own website content and performance, ensuring Ren shows up wherever advisors and donors search, from traditional SEO to AEO and AI-driven discovery
  • Develop our PR strategy, building executive awareness, understanding, and alignment, and oversee the management of our PR agency
  • Oversee internal communications

Ideal Profile & Attributes:

  • 15+ years in marketing and/or brand, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role managing people
  • A track record building a metrics-driven culture, with an appetite for testing and experimentation
  • Experience developing benchmarks and KPI frameworks that connect marketing activity to business outcomes
  • Track record leading multi-disciplinary teams, experience influencing complex, multi-stakeholder sales is a strong plus
  • Elite writer and communicator. Your content, decks, and narratives are exceptional, and you're just as sharp presenting them live
  • An empath grounded in curiosity, ensuring that we listen deeply to the market, converting what you hear and learn into our brand meeting them exactly where they are
  • Entrepreneurial, with a passion for building and scaling brand functions and innovation, whether it's finding new tools, channels, sharper processes, or stronger creative output
  • Bachelor's degree required
