
GIS Analyst I

We’re looking for a Geospatial Analyst to join our growing team and sit in our Raleigh, NC office. We are seeking a GIS professional that is eager to work on real-world projects that restore streams, wetlands, and other natural systems. You’ll be supporting GIS deliverables for ecological restoration, stormwater, and infrastructure projects. Most of your work will be desktop-based, but you may occasionally travel to project sites or assist with field data collection and integration.

The Mission: The GIS Analyst will execute GIS projects related to ecological restoration, water resource solutions and other projects within an ESRI enterprise system
A Day in the Life
On a typical day, you might be:

Running basic spatial analyses and models to support stream and wetland design decisions

Converting and integrating multiple data types (e.g., CAD, shapefiles, GPS, raster) into usable formats

Cleaning and integrating field-collected GPS data into geodatabases

Interpreting ALTA surveys to extract site boundaries, easements, and infrastructure for base maps

Creating visually accurate maps and graphics using ArcGIS Pro

Following structured workflows for map production, data management, and internal deliverables

Documenting your analysis processes in clear, reusable steps

Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure outputs meet both technical and field needs
We would love to talk to you if you have many of the following:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, or a related field
- Familiarity with ArcGIS Pro or other GIS software
- Exposure to spatial analysis and modeling (e.g., slope analysis, buffering, overlays)
- Understanding of data types (vector, raster, CAD, GPS, KML) and data conversion techniques
- Ability to create clean, readable maps using cartographic principles
- Understanding of geodatabase structure and working with file-based data
- Basic Python or SQL programming skills

- Have a strong eye for detail and commitment to quality in both data and visual output
What Will Make You Stand Out
- Familiarity with environmental permitting (e.g., 404/401, ESA, NPDES)
- Experience creating geodatabases, conducting spatial analysis, or cleaning field data
- A UAV pilot’s license or interest in drone-based mapping
- Some experience with field data (GPS or remote sensing)
