Land Administration Specialist
At RES, we’re looking for purpose-driven individuals who are passionate about restoration and sustainability, and who want their work to make a lasting environmental impact. Our team members go above and beyond, bringing initiative, integrity, and a strong work ethic to every project. Collaboration is key—we thrive on teamwork, open communication, and diverse perspectives. In a field that constantly changes, we value those who are resilient, adaptable, and resourceful in the face of challenges. If you're intellectually curious, eager to learn, and ready to help restore ecosystems and protect natural resources, you’ll find your place here.
The Land Administration Specialist supports land acquisition and land administration activities by coordinating documentation, conducting due diligence support, managing transaction details, and helping move projects efficiently from initiation through closing and handoff. This role works with landowners, internal stakeholders, and project teams to support leases, easements, rights of way, and other land-related agreements. Success in this role requires strong organization, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to work with legal and land documents with limited supervision.
What your day-to-day might look like
In this role, you will review leases, contracts, agreements, and other legal land documents to identify potential issues, key questions, and advantages for RES. You will support due diligence efforts by conducting online record searches, reviewing title-related information, and communicating operational constraints or title concerns discovered during the process.
You will coordinate directly with landowners on curative items and help move transactions toward completion by preparing and executing closing documents with limited supervision. You will also identify the appropriate RES contract form for a given land acquisition and draft legal language for legal review as needed.
This role includes tracking milestone dates, payments, and other project deliverables to help ensure transactions stay organized and on schedule. You will prepare final instruments, maintain accurate records, and coordinate with internal teams and Long Term Steward to support successful project handoff.
We would love to talk to you if you have many of the following:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3+ years of experience in land acquisition, real estate, legal support, or a related field preferred
- Intermediate knowledge of land leases, contracts, agreements, easements, rights of way, and related land documents
- Intermediate ability to review legal documents and identify potential issues, questions, and advantages for RES
- Intermediate understanding of legal terminology and land transaction processes
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe
- Intermediate experience conducting online record searches and land-related research
- Intermediate knowledge of internal systems such as NetSuite, Landscape, and other RES platforms
- Ability to identify the appropriate RES contract form for a given land acquisition
- Ability to draft legal language for legal review with limited supervision
- Ability to communicate potential title issues and operational constraints discovered during due diligence
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including direct coordination with landowners and internal teams
What will make you stand out
You may stand out if you have experience supporting land transactions from due diligence through closing, preparing or reviewing a variety of land agreements, and coordinating across teams to keep projects moving. Experience identifying title-related issues, managing transaction milestones and payments, and supporting final instrument delivery and project handoff will also be valuable in this role.
