Solutions Analyst I

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States; Scenery Hill, Pennsylvania, United States

At RES, we’re looking for purpose-driven individuals who are passionate about restoration and sustainability, and who want their work to make a lasting environmental impact. Our team members go above and beyond, bringing initiative, integrity, and a strong work ethic to every project. Collaboration is key—we thrive on teamwork, open communication, and diverse perspectives. In a field that constantly changes, we value those who are resilient, adaptable, and resourceful in the face of challenges. If you're intellectually curious, eager to learn, and ready to help restore ecosystems and protect natural resources, you’ll find your place here.

RES is looking for an Environmental Solutions Analyst.

As an Environmental Solutions Analyst at RES, you will play a key role in identifying and supporting the development of environmental markets across our mitigation, water quality, and endangered species solution lines. Working at the intersection of market research, data analytics, and environmental planning, your insights will help guide business development strategy and equip regional teams with actionable, data-driven intelligence.

This role is ideal for someone early in their career who brings a strong analytical mindset, an interest in environmental solutions, and a desire to make an impact through research and strategy.

Why You’ll Love This Job:

  • You’ll shape RES’s future markets. Your research and insights will directly influence how RES pursues new commercial opportunities across the U.S.

  • You’ll work across disciplines. You’ll collaborate with teams in sales, science, engineering, finance, and policy—gaining exposure to the full lifecycle of environmental project development.
  • You’ll grow your skills. This role will strengthen your abilities in data analysis, writing, GIS, stakeholder engagement, and strategic thinking.

What your day-to-day might look like:

You’ll begin your day reviewing project opportunities, researching environmental regulations, or analyzing market activity. You may be conducting suitability assessments, mapping potential restoration opportunities, or evaluating competitor activity. Throughout the week, you’ll support proposal preparation, build reports and dashboards using Excel, Power BI, or GIS, and attend meetings with regulatory stakeholders or consultants.

You’ll also translate your findings into white papers, market assessments, presentations, and internal deliverables that support regional sales and strategy teams in making informed decisions. This work is fast-paced, collaborative, and rooted in RES’s mission to restore and protect natural resources.

We would love to talk to you if you have many of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree (any discipline)
  • 1+ year of professional experience or academic focus in a related area (e.g., environment, business, planning, data analytics) (including internships, research projects, etc.)
  • Demonstrated technical and creative writing ability
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Pro
  • Ability to manipulate and summarize large datasets and identify trends
  • Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or GIS tools (ArcGIS Online, Pro)

What will make you stand out?

  • Experience in brownfield, reclamation and mining.
  • Interest in or exposure to environmental permitting, planning, or policy (e.g., CWA 404/401, ESA, NPDES, local stormwater regulations)
  • Comfortable translating business or technical content into digestible reports, visuals, and presentations
  • Familiarity with public infrastructure funding, grant evaluation, or environmental regulatory processes
  • Experience in a project-based environment (e.g., environmental consulting, planning, or permitting)
  • Understanding of how to contextualize market opportunities in relation to strategic priorities

You Will Thrive in This Role If You:

  • Are passionate about sustainability, environmental markets, and nature-based solutions
  • Are curious and eager to dig into data, regulations, and research
  • Communicate clearly and confidently in writing and in meetings
  • Are highly organized and detail-oriented, especially when managing multiple workstreams
  • Work well in a collaborative, cross-functional environment
  • Enjoy combining strategic thinking with practical research and analysis

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
