At RES, we’re looking for purpose-driven individuals who are passionate about restoration and sustainability, and who want their work to make a lasting environmental impact. RES is seeking a Water Resources Engineer with 1+ years of experience, or equivalent internships, to join our team.

As an Engineer, you’ll work on projects from concept to construction and long-term monitoring, gaining hands-on experience throughout the project life cycle. Our team is driven by the opportunity to make a real impact on communities and ecosystems through adaptive, sustainable engineering practices.

TEAM INTERACTION: You’ll be supported by experienced mentors, and your work will directly contribute to restoring natural habitats, improving water quality, and enhancing resilience to flooding and coastal challenges.

A Day in the Life
As an Engineer I, your typical day will be a blend of technical collaboration and hands-on project support. You’ll:

  • Collaborate closely with Senior Engineers and other team members to develop designs for ecological restoration, stormwater systems, and erosion & sediment control.

  • Write technical reports and meticulously collect and organize data to support your team’s projects.
  • Participate in fieldwork to gather critical site data and perform site reconnaissance and assessments.
  • Conduct field visits to assess project sites and observe construction progress, connecting your designs to real-world implementation.
  • Communicating with clients, project stakeholders, and permitting agencies to achieve project goals.

Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of your job duties.

We would love to talk to you if you have many of the following:

  • B.S. in civil, environmental, water resources, or natural resources engineering (or a related field).
  • EIT eligible
  • Previous industry-related internship
  • Understanding of watershed hydrology fundamentals

  • Fundamental Civil/Environmental Engineering Concepts
  • Experience in Reading and Interpreting Plans
  • Basic Experience in Technical Report Writing and Documentation
  • Field techniques (XS, Long pro, survey) and site assessment

Please note that the “Day in the Life” section is not intended to be an exhaustive list of job duties, but rather a representative snapshot of typical responsibilities and work experiences at RES.
