Advisory Services Manager

Orlando, Florida, United States

At RES, we’re looking for purpose-driven individuals who are passionate about restoration and sustainability, and who want their work to make a lasting environmental impact. Our team members go above and beyond, bringing initiative, integrity, and a strong work ethic to every project. Collaboration is key—we thrive on teamwork, open communication, and diverse perspectives. In a field that constantly changes, we value those who are resilient, adaptable, and resourceful in the face of challenges. If you're intellectually curious, eager to learn, and ready to help restore ecosystems and protect natural resources, you’ll find your place here.

The Assistant Project Manager II supports the successful delivery of restoration, environmental, engineering, and construction projects by turning project plans into organized, measurable action. You will own defined project workstreams, maintain project controls, coordinate with internal and external partners, and help identify issues before they affect scope, schedule, budget, or quality.

At RES, project teams work across disciplines to deliver practical solutions that restore ecosystems and create lasting value for clients and communities. The APM II contributes by bringing structure, follow-through, and sound judgment to day-to-day project execution while continuing to grow toward full project management responsibility.

What you will do

• Support projects from planning through completion under the direction of a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager.

• Independently coordinate and complete defined project tasks and smaller workstreams with limited supervision.

• Assist with developing project scopes, budgets, schedules, work plans, deliverables, and project management documentation.

• Build, update, and track project schedules using Smartsheet, MS Project, or other approved project management software.

• Track project progress, percent complete, invoices, commitments, budgets, and other financial information.

• Maintain project records, meeting notes, action items, risk information, schedules, and other required documentation.

• Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, vendors, clients, and other stakeholders to keep assigned work moving forward.

• Identify project constraints, scope gaps, risks, and potential obstacles; recommend solution options and escalate issues appropriately.

• Support the use of RES project management best practices, including project plans, risk tracking, schedules, and other project controls.

• Apply working knowledge of relevant technical, regulatory, environmental, and construction requirements to assigned project activities.

• Assist the Project Manager with project communications, progress updates, financial reporting, and preparation for internal or client meetings.

• Promote safe work practices and incorporate project-specific safety considerations into planning and execution.

Talk to us if you have

• A bachelor's degree or equivalent in applied sciences, engineering, construction, or a related field; equivalent experience may substitute for education.

• One to three years of progressive experience in project coordination, construction, engineering, environmental consulting, or a related field.

• At least one year of experience supporting project planning, scheduling, budgeting, documentation, or delivery.

• Working knowledge of project development fundamentals, including scope, schedule, budget, deliverables, and project constraints.

• Working knowledge of project management software such as Smartsheet, MS Project, or comparable platforms.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities while meeting deadlines.

• Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

• A current and valid driver's license appropriate for the class of vehicle operated, with at least one year of experience operating that class of vehicle.

• The ability to work in a project environment that may include office, field, construction, and outdoor settings.

You will stand out if you have

• Experience supporting environmental restoration, ecological, civil, utility, construction, or engineering projects.

• Experience maintaining project schedules, budgets, forecasts, risk registers, action logs, or client deliverables.

• Experience coordinating subcontractors, vendors, field crews, or other external partners.

• Exposure to project financial management, including percent complete, revenue, margins, invoices, commitments, or change management.

• Experience reviewing project requirements and identifying technical, regulatory, schedule, or budget concerns.

• Experience using RES project management best practices or comparable project controls.

You will thrive here if you

• Take ownership of assigned deliverables and follow through without needing frequent reminders.

• Bring structure to complex or changing work and keep stakeholders informed of progress and risks.

• Ask thoughtful questions, seek guidance when needed, and apply feedback quickly.

• Approach problems with curiosity and recommend practical next steps instead of waiting for direction.

• Care about accurate documentation, safe execution, strong relationships, and delivering quality work.

• Want to grow into a Project Manager role while making a meaningful contribution today.
