About the Role:

Resident is seeking a talented Senior Product Designer to join our in-house product design team. This role reports to the Product Director and works closely with our larger product team. As a Senior Product Designer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality web designs and components, using your expertise in Figma and a variety of design skills.

You will collaborate with our Product and Data teams to drive your design decisions, leveraging data to create user-centric experiences. This role provides the exciting opportunity to work on websites that are viewed by millions of users every month, helping to shape the digital presence of our brand.

 

What You'll be Doing:

  • Deliver high quality product designs, but also consciously balance quality, time and effort. 
  • Lead the design direction for Resident e-commerce websites.
  • Work closely with Product, Data and Marketing teams to support A/B testing.
  • Understand the project requirements, conceptualize creative ideas and support in the development of UI components and larger design systems.
  • Support the Design System & Figma libraries for Resident brands.
  • Keep up to date with trends within the industry, as well as new tools, techniques, and software.   
  • Work proactively to build good relationships within project teams and collaborate effectively with other competences; for example Product, Data Directors and C-Suite Executives across the development workflow.
  • Provide design insight to non-designers to help improve flows and aesthetics.
  • Provide guidance to Junior and Mid-Level Product Designers.
  • Design and create complex prototyping within Figma.
  • Take concepts from napkin sketches to wireframes to finalized designs.
  • Work with our development team to bring your designs to life, and ensure we do not lose design quality along the way.

 

Skills/Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of product design experience at a senior level.
  • 5+ years of e-commerce product design experience.
  • Ecommerce experience, preferred 
  • A portfolio that shows a flexible / unique approach.
  • A strong sense of design, typography, and general aesthetics.
  • Experience leading and mentoring younger designers.
  • Experience working with C-Suite executives and directors to arrive at effective solutions.
  • Thorough knowledge of Figma.
  • Experience designing and maintaining design systems within Figma.
  • Experience with A/B Testing and Iterative Product Design
  • Ability to apply sound, independent judgment and discretion on matters of substantial importance to the company in performing duties, resolving complex problems, and interpreting policies and regulations
