About Us:
The Creative Studio at Resident is a nimble, data-driven team producing everything from high-performing ad creative to elevated branded content—including both lifestyle photography and video. Based in a 15,000 sq. ft. studio in the Bay Area, we shoot two to three times per month, collaborating closely to bring high-quality content to life at speed.
Job Overview:
As Senior Video Producer, you'll lead the cinematography and post-production functions within the Creative Studio. Reporting to the Director, Creative Studio, you’ll manage end-to-end video production operations—from on-set camera and lighting oversight to post-production workflows and asset delivery.
You’ll work hands-on as both a cinematographer and post-production lead, guiding a team of editors and freelancers, ensuring quality, speed, and consistency across all captured content—from performance-driven ad creative to elevated brand storytelling.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Translate creative direction and business objectives into visually compelling concepts and final video executions that align with brand and campaign goals.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to align on creative direction, production planning, and execution.
- Confidently lead and operate video shoots, handling camera, lighting, and sound as needed to capture high-quality content.
- Lead on-set lighting and camera teams to execute high-quality visual content.
- Be on set at least once per week in key roles such as cinematographer, DIT, or on-set editor.
- Hire and manage freelance crew (lighting, grip, etc.) for productions.
- Oversee all physical and post-production aspects of video for the Creative Studio, including equipment, lighting, and storage server management.
- Own server organization and media management processes.
- Independently manage post-production projects and timelines from intake through final delivery, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are consistently met.
- Manage post-production schedules, assigning tasks and deadlines to in-house and freelance editors.
- Edit larger-scale brand projects and support editing needs during periods of high volume.
- Oversee VFX, motion graphics, and color grading workflows.
- Stay current with editing software, visual trends, and platform best practices.
Skills/Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience in video production, with strong emphasis in both cinematography and post-production.
- Proven experience working across creative formats, including TV, web, and paid social (Meta, TikTok, YouTube).
- Deep understanding of video lighting, camera systems, and production workflows.
- Strong grasp of post-production, including VFX, motion graphics, and color grading.
- Confident project manager who can juggle creative vision with logistical execution.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills—comfortable leading a crew or partnering with a strategist.
- Experience working in a production studio environment (3+ years preferred).
- Familiarity with server and networking infrastructure for video teams.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and support physical studio setup as needed.
