Job Overview:
Resident is seeking a talented Email Designer to join our in-house Marketing Operations team, working alongside our CRM marketing team and reporting to the Director of Marketing Operations. In this role, you'll be instrumental in shaping the visual identity of both the Resident and Ashley brands — crafting high-quality email templates and graphics that captivate audiences and drive engagement. You'll collaborate closely with the CRM team and fellow designers to generate fresh ideas, evolve our existing design systems, and consistently elevate the aesthetic standard across all email touchpoints. As a key creative contributor, you'll play a direct role in advancing the Ashley brand's presence through thoughtful, polished, and on-brand design execution.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Design email layouts and graphics that adhere to brand standards and the established design system, in close collaboration with the brand team.
- Optimize all email designs for mobile, desktop, and dark mode.
- Maintain a working understanding of HTML/CSS email constraints and rendering behavior across major clients (including Outlook, iOS, and Gmail) to ensure designs are buildable and consistent.
- Design and deliver variants in support of A/B and multivariate testing across layouts, CTAs, and content.
- Design for dynamic and personalized content, accounting for variable data, conditional content blocks, and product recommendation modules within journey emails.
- Apply performance insights provided by CRM managers (open rates, click rates, conversions) to inform and iterate on design decisions.
- Deliver high-quality designs; balancing quality, velocity, and managing deadlines.
- Develop an organized system and rapport for managing daily/weekly creative needs for the CRM team.
- Understand the project requirements, conceptualize creative ideas and support in the development of new designs across CRM and marketing.
- Keep up to date with trends within the industry, as well as new tools, techniques, and software.
- Work proactively to build good relationships within project teams and collaborate effectively with other competencies; for example CRM Managers, Retail Managers, and Operations teams.
The responsibilities described above are not exhaustive. You may be asked, from time to time and as reasonably required by business needs, to perform other duties consistent with your skills and role, including work for or on behalf of our related entities. This job description does not constitute a contract of employment and may be modified at any time, subject to applicable law.
Skills & Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of design experience in a similar role
- A portfolio that shows a flexible/unique approach
- Experience developing templates and graphics for email
- Experience with email analytics and the story the data tells
- A strong sense of design, typography, and general aesthetics
- Thorough knowledge of Figma
- Thorough knowledge of the Adobe design suite
What We Offer (subject to eligibility requirements):
- Remote-first workplace (since 2016!) Competitive salary
- Annual bonus potential
- Health, Vision & Dental Insurance HSA company contributions
- 401K with company match component
- “Take what you need” PTO
- Wellness benefits
- WFH office and cell phone/internet stipend
