Senior Director, Activation Strategy

As we continue to grow, Resonate is seeking a seasoned Senior Director of Activation Strategy to lead the strategy, innovation, and execution of our audience creation and data distributions. This pivotal role will shape next-generation offerings by leveraging deep expertise in consumer data, analytics, Martech, and data marketplaces. You’ll set the vision, define the roadmap, and guide cross-functional teams to keep Resonate ahead of emerging trends like privacy regulation, identity resolution, clean rooms, and generative AI in advertising.

  • Shape market-entry and expansion strategies that align with evolving industry dynamics

Key Responsibilities
 

Product Strategy and Development 

  • Drive the product vision, pricing, lifecycle, competitive intelligence, and roadmap for innovative AI-driven consumer segments and audiences
  • Establish a clear long-term vision for Resonate’s role in data activation and audience distribution, including participation in emerging ecosystems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate market requirements into well-defined product features
  • Work closely with Product Owners to ensure alignment between vision, execution, and delivery
  • Own and deepen relationships with key programmatic partners, including DSPs (e.g., The Trade Desk), data onboarding partners (e.g., LiveRamp), clean room environments (e.g., Snowflake, AWS), and data marketplaces 

Market Understanding 

  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify key customer segments, pain points, pricing opportunities, and growth areas 
  • Leverage data-driven insights to inform product and marketing strategies 
  • Analyze audience behavior data to optimize product offerings 
  • Stay informed on privacy legislation (e.g., CPRA, GDPR) and its implications for data activation and product development 

Partner Management 

  • Identify and manage channel partner opportunities to support product success and business growth 
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships from a product perspective, ensuring collaborative success 

Sales Enablement 

  • Provide subject matter expertise to sales and product marketing teams, supporting collateral development and training 
  • Partner with marketing to build compelling value propositions and go-to-market strategies tailored to key buyer personas 

Team Management 

  • Directly manage a Product Owner Manager and work cross-functionally with agile development teams 
  • Foster a culture of experimentation, learning, accountability, and continuous improvement 

 

Qualifications & Experience Requirements 

  • 8+ years of professional experience as a product leader 
  • 5+ years of experience working for or with DSPs, DMPs, or SSPs 
  • Strong knowledge of data marketplaces such as Snowflake, AWS Data Marketplace, etc. 
  • Proven ability to manage vendor relationships from a product management perspective 
  • Demonstrated success working with clients to translate business problems into product requirements 
  • Deep understanding of consumer analytics, advertising/marketing SaaS and DaaS offerings, and the digital marketing ecosystem 
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities 
  • Experience in working both independently and in cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment 
  • Experience developing and launching products in evolving data privacy, clean room, or first-party data activation environments

Educational Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Business, or a related field
