ABOUT THE ROLE
The Customer Service Representative (Resupply) plays a vital role in ensuring patients receive timely and accurate resupply of their medical equipment and supplies. This remote position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and comfortable handling high-volume communication while navigating insurance and medical documentation requirements. The role requires prolonged periods of computer-based work, frequent phone communication, and the ability to effectively manage responsibilities in a home-based work environment with reliable internet access.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Handle inbound and outbound calls, emails, and communications related to medical supply resupply orders
- Manage and follow up on assigned resupply orders, ensuring completion within the calendar month
- Educate patients on available resupply products and eligibility requirements
- Accurately enter and process resupply orders in company systems
- Verify prescriptions, documentation, and patient records prior to order fulfillment
- Identify missing documentation and request patients contact healthcare providers as needed
- Obtain supervisor approval when required medical supplies are involved
- Verify and update patient insurance information
- Explain patient financial responsibility, including co-pays, deductibles, and self-pay requirements
- Collect outstanding balances and process payments when applicable
- Provide professional, empathetic, and compliant customer service at all times
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, privacy, and confidentiality standards
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior data entry experience
- Strong typing and 10-key skills
- Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Experience working successfully in a remote work environment
- Ability to maintain productivity, professionalism, and communication while working remotely
