Global Sourcing Specialist

Remote, China

Global Sourcing Specialist (China Focus • Remote)

The Mission

We are on a mission to disrupt the commercial kitchen equipment industry by leveraging massive buying power to save our customers time and money. We aren’t just looking for a "buyer"—we are looking for a Sourcing Strategist who knows how to peel back the layers of the global supply chain to find the world’s best manufacturing partners.

The Role: Supply Chain Investigator

In this role, you won't just manage orders; you will engineer supply chains. You will use trade data and established China-based relationships to source $5M+ in high-demand inventory annually. You will be the architect of our "OEM-Equivalent" strategy, ensuring our customers get top-tier quality at a fraction of the name-brand price.

Top Priorities for This Role

  • Direct-to-Factory Sourcing: You have spent years "in the weeds" with Chinese manufacturers. You know how to bypass trading companies to work directly with the source.
  • Competitive Intelligence: You are proficient in using ImportYeti, ImportGenius, Panjiva, or similar tools to reverse-engineer competitor supply chains and identify top-performing factories.
  • High-Volume Procurement: You have a proven track record of managing significant spend (minimum $5M, ideally $100M+) while maintaining high inventory turns and healthy margins.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Sourcing: Identify and onboard new factory partners in China, focusing on commercial kitchen equipment and precision replacement parts.
  • Reverse Engineering: Utilize Bill of Lading (BOL) data and trade tools to find untapped manufacturing opportunities and "shadow" successful industry competitors.
  • Negotiation & Profitability: Lead rigorous negotiations on unit pricing, MOQs, payment terms, and lead times to maximize company cash flow.
  • Quality & Compliance: Oversee the sourcing of OEM-compatible parts, ensuring they meet strict performance standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner Management: Act as the primary bridge between our remote team and overseas partners, navigating time zones and cultural nuances to ensure seamless production.

What You Bring to the Table

  • 5+ Years Experience: Deep background in international buying/purchasing, specifically within the food service or industrial equipment sectors.
  • The "Sourcing Toolkit": Expert-level ability to use ImportYeti or ImportGenius to vet suppliers and track shipments.
  • China Expertise: Solid understanding of Chinese manufacturing hubs, cost structures, and export logistics. (Must be fluent in Mandarin and/or Cantonese)
  • Analytical Rigor: You live in the data. You understand demand forecasting, landed cost analysis, and inventory turnover.
  • Remote Mastery: You are a self-starter who thrives in a virtual environment, maintaining high accountability without a traditional office structure. Willing to travel to China if needed.

Why Join Us?

  • Full Autonomy: This is a 100% remote position with a flexible schedule. We care about results!
  • Growth Potential: You’ll be at the forefront of our inventory expansion, with the opportunity to manage massive portfolios.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Competitive salary, performance-based bonuses, and full medical/dental/vision coverage.
  • Perks: Special pricing on all the commercial kitchen gear you can handle.

Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action Employer:

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, creed, religion, disability, sex, age, ethic or national origin, martial status, sexual orientation, gender identity or presentation, pregnancy, genetics, veteran status or other status protected by state or federal law.
