Freight & Logistics Manager, US LTL Focus

Remote - Philippines | Full-Time

Restaurant Supply is seeking an experienced Freight & Logistics Manager to lead our US LTL freight operations, manage a team of Freight & Logistics Coordinators, and improve freight cost, shipment accuracy, carrier performance, and claims recovery.

This role is responsible for protecting company margin and customer experience across approximately $5 million in annual freight volume. You will oversee complex shipments involving heavy commercial equipment, industrial goods, and other high-value products while ensuring accurate documentation, cost-efficient carrier decisions, reliable pickup coordination, and disciplined exception management.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead, coach, schedule, and develop a team of Freight & Logistics Coordinators.

  • Set daily priorities, balance workloads, maintain coverage, and manage escalations.

  • Oversee the creation and auditing of Bills of Lading for complex US LTL shipments.

  • Ensure accuracy of weights, dimensions, NMFC classifications, freight classes, descriptions, and accessorial requirements.

  • Use GlobalTranz or a comparable TMS to quote, route, and book shipments.

  • Balance freight cost, carrier reliability, transit performance, damage history, and customer impact when making carrier decisions.

  • Own the end-to-end freight claims process, including documentation, filing, follow-up, negotiation, settlement review, and recovery.

  • Coordinate with US factories, foremen, carriers, customers, and internal teams to ensure successful pickup and delivery.

  • Monitor carrier performance, re-bills, accessorials, classification errors, and other sources of freight leakage.

  • Establish and maintain SOPs, KPIs, quality audits, carrier scorecards, and reporting systems.

  • Identify recurring operational issues and implement corrective actions.

  • Act as the escalation point for high-risk shipments, carrier disputes, claims, and operational issues.

  • Coach team members toward stronger decision-making, accuracy, accountability, and independent problem-solving.

What We’re Looking For

  • 7+ years of US domestic freight or logistics experience.

  • At least 5 years of US LTL experience, ideally involving heavy equipment, industrial goods, commercial equipment, machinery, appliances, furniture, or other high-value products.

  • At least 2 years of direct people-management experience.

  • Experience managing approximately $5 million or more in annual freight spend.

  • Experience managing a high-volume operation involving approximately 150+ complex freight shipments per month.

  • Advanced experience with GlobalTranz or a comparable US Transportation Management System.

  • Strong knowledge of:

    • BOL creation and auditing

    • NMFC classifications and freight classes

    • Shipment density and dimensions

    • Accessorial charges

    • Industrial and specialized packaging

    • Carrier liability

    • US freight claims

  • Working knowledge of the Carmack Amendment and applicable freight-claim documentation and timing requirements.

  • Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills for reporting, dashboards, scorecards, and financial analysis.

  • Proven experience creating SOPs, KPIs, quality-control processes, and performance-management systems.

  • Strong carrier negotiation and escalation skills.

  • Excellent written and spoken English.

  • Willingness to work 100% aligned with US Eastern Time, including Philippine night-shift hours.

What Makes You a Great Fit

You are an experienced US LTL leader who understands that freight management is about more than booking the lowest rate.

You know how to balance cost, carrier reliability, freight classification, service performance, damage risk, claims recovery, and customer impact. You are comfortable leading a team, challenging carriers, investigating freight leakage, and following claims and operational issues through final resolution.

You are highly organized, data-driven, detail-oriented, and calm under pressure.
