[2025 Summer Internships] Federal Practice - Federal Policy Intern (Congress)

Washington, District of Columbia, United States

Organization: Results for America
Role: Federal Policy Intern (Congress)
Location: Remote

Organization Overview

Results for America (RFA) is the leading, national nonprofit organization helping policymakers at all levels of government harness the power of evidence and data to solve the world’s greatest challenges. Our mission is to make investing in what works the “new normal,” so that, one day, all government leaders use rigorous evidence and quality data to inform important policy and funding decisions. We believe that data-driven and evidence-based policy decisions should be used to increase the impact of the over $2 trillion that governments spend annually to open opportunities and advance economic mobility.

Program Overview

RFA’s 2025 summer internship program will run for approximately 10 weeks, from Monday June 2 - Friday, August 15, 2025. Over the course of this internship, all interns will be immersed in RFA’s programmatic and policy work by supporting one of RFA's innovative teams in achieving their strategic goals. Interns will work on various projects during their time at RFA, while also enjoying a range of learning and professional development opportunities.

Interns will work virtually and will be expected to use their own internet/computers. Interns will also be assigned RFA email addresses for the duration of the summer.

Team Overview

RFA has organized a “practice” at every level of government: federal, state, and local. Among numerous efforts, the Federal Practice sets a Standard of Excellence that defines how federal agencies should use data and evidence in policy, practice, grant-making and management decisions. The team also offers technical support and coaching for federal government leaders to advance and promote best practices as defined by the Standard of Excellence and shifts public resources to evidence-based practices. Finally, the team provides policy research and analysis on and advocacy for evidence-based policy for Members of Congress, including the bipartisan What Works Caucus.  Aligned with RFA’s growth trajectory, the Federal practice is dedicated to helping RFA usher in a new generation of evidence-based policy with equity at its core, and enhance state and local implementation of national programs to produce real results for residents across the country.
