Program Overview
RFA’s 2025 summer internship program will run for approximately 10 weeks, from Monday June 2 - Friday, August 15, 2025. Over the course of this internship, all interns will be immersed in RFA’s programmatic and policy work by supporting one of RFA's innovative teams in achieving their strategic goals. Interns will work on various projects during their time at RFA, while also enjoying a range of learning and professional development opportunities.
Interns will work virtually and will be expected to use their own internet/computers. Interns will also be assigned RFA email addresses for the duration of the summer.
Team Overview
The Measurement, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) team at Results for America focuses on building the tools, systems and capabilities of our teams to use data and evidence to improve their programs and RFA’s overall impact. We work to design and implement effective measurement systems, evaluate program outcomes, and facilitate continuous learning. By ensuring that decisions are grounded in rigorous data and analysis, the MEL team supports better outcomes, aiming to drive measurable impact and promote more effective program implementation.
Position Overview & Requirements
RFA offers summer internships to individuals who are at least 18 years old and who have:
- Proficient computer skills, including Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel);
- Excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills;
- A strong work ethic, positive attitude, enthusiasm, professionalism, ambition, curiosity, and rigor in all that you do;
- A commitment to Results for America’s mission and vision;
- Respect for Results for America’s organizational values;
- A love-for and desire-to learn more or practice skills related to measurement, evaluation and learning.
Position Responsibilities
RFA’s MEL team is looking for a burgeoning researcher or evaluator who is interested in gaining hands-on experience in measurement, evaluation and learning in a non-profit and government adjacent organization. This role will have the opportunity to work on one of the many projects in the MEL portfolio ranging from data management and reporting using Salesforce and other warehouse data, data visualization in tableau and other visualization tools, policy analysis, and impact storytelling to name a few.
- Data Analysis and Interpretation: Proficiency in analyzing qualitative and quantitative data to assess program effectiveness and inform decision-making.
- Evaluation Design and Methodology: Knowledge of various evaluation techniques (e.g., experimental, quasi-experimental, and non-experimental designs) and the ability to develop evaluation plans.
- Project Management: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, timelines, and stakeholders while ensuring project goals are met.
- Communication Skills: Ability to clearly present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences, including through reports and presentations.
- Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking: Capacity to identify issues, analyze problems from different angles, and propose data-driven solutions.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Experience working in cross-functional teams, collaborating with stakeholders, and fostering a learning environment within the organization.
Position Reporting Relationship
This position reports to the Associate Director of Impact Measurement and Data and/or VP of Measurement, Evaluation and Learning.
Rate of Pay
Individuals with 1-4 years of postsecondary education or relevant work experience in government or nonprofit organizations will be paid $27/hour.
Individuals with 5 or more years of postsecondary education or relevant work experience in government or nonprofit organizations will be paid $32/hour.
The exact work schedule will be determined in coordination with the relevant RFA program lead.
