Team Overview
The Partnerships and Community Impact team stewards and executes on partnerships to accelerate progress towards RFA’s North Star goals. This cross-cutting capacity leads an enterprise-wide approach to strategic collaboration, acting as an internal connector and external collaborator creating cohesion in the economic mobility field and driving impact for residents in local communities.
Project Overview
Starting in 2024, RFA, in partnership with a major national funder, is embarking on a large-scale, multi-year effort in support of local government decision makers, focused on building the value of public goods and resources that better enable these leaders to increase economic mobility in their communities. As a part of this effort, RFA will build an economic mobility “network platform” that will serve as an online hub to bring together local decision makers and resource creators from around the country to improve the creation, delivery, and adoption of public goods to advance economic mobility. Through this project, RFA and its partners will help ensure that local government leaders can access and utilize the high-quality, user-centered resources and support they need to expand economic opportunity and achieve more equitable outcomes for their residents.
Position Overview & Requirements
RFA offers summer internships to individuals who are at least 18 years old and who have:
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines;
- Demonstrated ability to figure out solutions to hard problems with many constraints, using sound judgement to assess risks, and to lay out your argument in a well-structured, data-informed, written narrative.
- Outstanding writing skills;
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills;
- Excellent oral communications and interpersonal skills;
- Knowledge of content management systems (Wordpress, Drupal, etc),
- Familiarity with basic web languages (HTML, CSS);
- Proficient computer skills, including Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel);
- Excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills;
- A strong work ethic, positive attitude, enthusiasm, professionalism, ambition, curiosity, and rigor in all that you do;
- A commitment to Results for America’s mission and vision;
- Respect for Results for America’s organizational values.
This role will work with the Results Team to manage the pilot phase and subsequent scaling of Results Network. This role will focus on identifying and executing on opportunities to improve user interaction and experience in the Network as well as contribute to product development generally. This role will also support research, reporting, and administrative tasks necessary to the success of the Network.
This role will work cross-functionally but will sit within a team composed of a Vice President, Director, Associate Product Manager, and Community Manager.
Position Reporting Relationship
This position will report to the Associate Product Manager, Results Network.
Position Responsibilities
Product Development (25%)
- Contribute to the development of the Results Network product roadmap
- Contribute to the development, scaling, and optimization strategies of the Results Network, ensuring alignment with RFA’s mission and the needs of local government leaders.
- Support administrative tasks necessary to maintaining and growing the Network
- Develop training materials and document processes for team knowledge management
Client Feedback (25%)
- Design and manage customer feedback opportunities to ensure member feedback is thoughtfully solicited and integrated into product development.
Client Engagement & Content (25%)
- Respond to support requests from members, troubleshoot those requests, and/or escalate to the associate product manager where appropriate.
- Contribute to the development of the content calendar
- Write and post original content to the Network
- Brainstorm content ideas alongside program teams
- Maintain the Resource Hub by identifying exciting new resources, tagging, uploading to the Network, and promoting to our members.
- Update the events calendar with new learning opportunities.
Performance and Reporting (25%)
- Input data into Salesforce
- Pull reports from the Results Network backend and Google Analytics to shine a light on community health and opportunities for improvement.
- Support on the development of internal RFA knowledge sharing deliverables and funder reporting deliverables
Rate of Pay
Individuals with 1-4 years of postsecondary education or relevant work experience in government or nonprofit organizations will be paid $27/hour.
Individuals with 5 or more years of postsecondary education or relevant work experience in government or nonprofit organizations will be paid $32/hour.
