Field Marketing Manager, EMEA

ABOUT RETOOL

Nearly every company in the world runs on custom software: Gartner estimates that up to 50% of all code is written for internal use. This is the operational software for refunding orders, underwriting loans, onboarding employees, analyzing transactions, and providing customer support. But most companies don’t have adequate resources to properly invest in these tools, leading to a lot of old and clunky internal software or, even worse, users still stuck in manual and spreadsheet flows.

At Retool, we’re on a mission to bring good software to everyone. We’re building a new type of development platform that combines the benefits of traditional software development with a drag-and-drop UI editor and AI, making it dramatically faster to build internal tools. We believe that the future of software development lies in abstracting away the tedious and repetitive tasks developers waste time on, while creating reusable components that act as a force multiplier for future developers and projects. The result is not just productivity, but good software by default. And that’s a mission worth striving for.

Today, our customers span from small startups building their first operational tools to Fortune 500 companies building mission-critical apps for thousands of users across their business. Interested in joining us? Let us know!

WHY WE’RE LOOKING FOR YOU:

Retool is the fast way to build internal tools. Thousands of companies—like Brex, DoorDash, and Pinterest—use Retool to build custom apps that help them manage drivers, approve loans, and run any process that gets business done. We’ve grown exponentially each year since being founded, but need help reaching millions more developers. That’s where you come in.

As the first Field Marketing Manager (EMEA) at Retool, you’ll plan and execute experiential events aligning with our overall marketing strategy to accelerate our growth in the EMEA market in close coordination with the EMEA sales team. We’re a fast-paced startup with plenty of room to experiment and create immediate impact from your work. You’ll get to wear different hats and work across many teams at Retool.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

You’ll plan, execute and manage field marketing activities including but not limited to events and direct mailers. You’ll get a chance to work closely with our GTM team to ensure that we engage with the right audience, generate net new leads and help accelerate deals that are already in the pipeline. You’ll also coordinate with various internal teams such as Product Marketing and Operations to ensure that every project you drive has consistent messaging and aligns with our internal processes of tracking and analytics. Your north-star KPI will encompass both quality and quantity measured as contribution to the pipeline both from a new logo and expansion motion.

No two days will be the same. As part of a rapidly scaling team you will have the opportunity to assist in various other areas of demand generation and growth.

  • Manage experiential events from conception to execution
  • Drive the execution on events for developer awareness: figure out the right conferences we should have a presence at or sponsor to brings developers into Retool’s orbit
  • Partner closely with EMEA GTM teams to identify the right events to attend or put on to build and accelerate demand generation pipelines
  • Extend the Retool brand presence in tasteful ways for different formats like executive dinners, several types of webinars, community meetups, product launch events, and—eventually—user conferences
  • Create highly visible experiential projects that rely on vendors and internal stakeholders
  • Work with our data and revenue operations teams to track the effectiveness of our events, and use data to inform decisions.

THE SKILLSET YOU'LL BRING:

  • 5+ years of field marketing experience with a B2B or developer tools startup
  • 3+ years experience planning and executing hosted and sponsored events
  • 2+ years experience managing direct mailer/gifting campaigns
  • Excellent project management skills, with an uncanny ability to keeping multiple work streams and cross-functional partners and vendors in sync around timelines
  • The ability to span events built for awareness (reaching new developers in tasteful ways, ideally through the communities they’re already a part of) and demand (partnering with GTM teams on building and accelerating pipeline).
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce or similar), marketing automation tools (e.g., HubSpot or similar), and tracking tools to assess campaign effectiveness
  • Strong sense of curiosity and first principles thinking—bring your intuition, but leave behind any playbooks
  • Experience and affinity for evolving projects and experiments into programs
  • The ability to build strong cross-functional partnerships to both GTM and product teams, as well as the rest of the marketing org
  • Excellent written and verbal communication chops
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% within the EMEA region and occasionally to the USA
  • Ability to work out of our London office 3 days a week

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
