Nearly every company in the world runs on custom software: Gartner estimates that up to 50% of all code is written for internal use. This is the operational software for refunding orders, underwriting loans, onboarding employees, analyzing transactions, and providing customer support. But most companies don’t have adequate resources to properly invest in these tools, leading to a lot of old and clunky internal software or, even worse, users still stuck in manual and spreadsheet flows.

WHY WE'RE LOOKING FOR YOU:
Retool has focused the last year on building an excellent product, delivering value and impact to our customers, and growing the business. We’ve built an incredible foundational sales team who has brought Retool to thousands of customers. But we’re not done—next year (and the year after that!) we have incredibly aggressive goals we’ll achieve only if we can hire best-in-class account executives and supporting sales functions in 2025. That’s where you come in. We’re looking for an excellent recruiter to dive in as we scale our go-to-market and sales teams. You’ll have a seat at the table in determining our processes and how we grow and you’ll have incredible partners to work with.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
As a full-cycle recruiter, you’ll partner closely with hiring managers to lead the recruiting process, manage candidate pipelines, and successfully close hires. You’ll develop a deep understanding of how to sell Retool and effectively communicate our story and vision to candidates. This also means refining and enhancing our sales hiring processes to iterate on what works while improving what doesn’t. You’ll be responsible for hiring across a range of roles, including account executives, sales engineers, and technical account managers. Using data-driven insights, you’ll make informed decisions, proactively identify risks, and surface key issues to your hiring partners.
Beyond pipeline management, you’ll act as a strategic advisor to hiring managers—some experienced, others new to hiring—helping them shape their teams and execute on the sales org’s vision. You’ll provide thoughtful recommendations, guide hiring strategies, and ensure we build high-performing teams.Your experience will help you navigate complex candidate situations, facilitate hiring decisions, and deliver an exceptional candidate experience. But you won’t do it alone—you’ll be fully supported by the team, with the autonomy to drive initiatives, build meaningful relationships, and shape successful hiring strategies.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Own the full-cycle recruiting process, from our first touchpoint with candidates to closing them in partnership with our head of engineering, engineers, and peers
- Drive hiring decisions with your hiring managers. You’ll act as a sounding board and guide through our candidate debriefs post onsites and help the hiring team make a final decision
- Leverage your metrics to inform your activity needs, which we'll look to you to interpret and present (and manage to)
- Manage the role kickoff process and agree on deliverables with hiring managers, interviewers, and so forth
- Learn our sourcing profiles and refine them as needed, all with the intent of hiring the best and brightest engineers and designers, from a variety of backgrounds
- Partner with your hiring teams to identify non-traditional ways to reach out to and attract candidates.
- Contribute to Retool's mission to build a diverse and performant company
THE SKILLSET YOU'LL BRING:
- 3+ years experience in full-cycle recruiting on the business side, with an emphasis on go-to-market and sales roles
- Proven track record of running a strong closing process to successfully hire candidates
- Experience partnering with multiple hiring managers to align on hiring needs and drive results
- Strong understanding of recruiting metrics, conversion rates, and a drive to continuously improve processes
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Commitment to embedding diversity and inclusion into recruiting strategies and decision-making
- Enthusiasm for being a foundational team member, contributing to building a world-class recruiting function
For candidates based in San Francisco, the pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents base salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings (OTE) for commissionable roles. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Retool and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors such as (but not limited to), scope and responsibilities, the candidate’s experience and qualifications, and location.
Additional compensation in the form(s) of equity, and/or commission/bonuses are dependent on the position offered. Retool provides a comprehensive benefit plan, including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k). Pay and benefits are subject to change at any time, consistent with the terms of any applicable compensation or benefit plans.
