Senior Accountant 

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in managing financial reporting, ensuring compliance, and supporting strategic financial planning. Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including accruals and journal entries
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Prepare and process payroll 
  • Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Manage HST/GST filings and other regulatory remittances
  • Assist in month-end and year-end close procedures
  • Support the preparation of financial statements and working papers for external accountants or auditors
  • Monitor cash flow and prepare weekly/monthly cash reports
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date accounting records in compliance with policies and procedures
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Identify and recommend process improvements for greater efficiency and accuracy

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in full-cycle bookkeeping or accounting
  • Payroll experience 
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, NetSuite, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of Canadian GAAP and tax regulations
  • Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with financial reports
  • High attention to detail, organizational skills, and confidentiality
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in a small to mid-sized business or startup environment
  • Familiarity with payroll systems and HR processes
  • Working towards CPA designation (an asset, not required)
