Security Manager
The security manager runs both transportation and on-site security, ensuring we follow the policies set in place. A secure facility is essential for both safety and compliance. A security manager must ensure that they are unbiased and fact based in day to day decision-making. This position reports to the facilities manager and attends several meetings throughout the week to ensure adequate communication with the entire management team.
Essential Functions:
• Scheduling various inspections. Burglar, Sprinkler, Fire, and suppression systems.
• Reporting of deficiencies and root cause correction.
• Emergency action plans, as well as training during the onboarding process.
• Internal investigations, as delegated by upper management.
• Camera audits, ensuring cameras are recording as well as connected.
• IDOA and ISP inspections, made available to the state in whichever capacity they require.
• Access badging, ability to assign and remove access as well as creation of new badges.
• Available for emergencies off hours such as; transportation issues, fire alarms, burglar alarms.
• Tracking and completion of transportation vehicle maintenance and repairs.
Cross- Departmental Functions:
• Work with management of other departments in order to facilitate effective and timely solutions.
Minimum Education:
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Technical schooling or relevant work experience in applicable fields
Minimum Experience:
Required or Preferred Skills, Abilities, Licensures and Certifications:
• Above average soft skills and ability to calmly resolve tense situations.
• Illinois Department of Federal Regulation restricts individuals with felony convictions relating to cannabis or assault.
• Must be a proponent of medical cannabis.
• Preferred OSHA certification.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift 50lbs and work in a physically charged environment
• Must be able maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stopping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, and use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, pinch frequently/constantly to complete tasks
• Must be able to wear PPE as appropriate (eye, face, hand, arm, head, foot, body, fall protection), and able to be exposed to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions while wearing PPE (95 degrees or greater)
• Must have visual acuity with/without job aids to perform activities such as; reading, viewing a computer terminal, visual inspection involving small parts/details. Clarity of vision at 20 ft or more in day and night/dark conditions
• Must be able to speak and communicate verbally at conversation levels with co-workers, vendors, etc. (Moderate noise)
Work Schedule:
• 40+ hours weekly with flexible hours depending on department needs.
• Must be available to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be available to respond to emergency after hours events.
