Environmental Technician

Revolution provides our communities with a wide range of the highest-quality medical and adult-use cannabis products. We are hiring Environmental Technicians to monitor and maintain the environments for plants across our entire Delavan, IL facility, under supervision of the IPM Manager. General duties include environmental sanitization, transplant prep, assisting cross-functional teams in daily tasks/projects, and utilization of automated computer systems/meters for analysis. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and can effectively manage their time.
Essential Functions:

- Demonstrate consistent, reliable attendance and punctuality to maintain daily operations and team effectiveness.
- Observe all safety and biosecurity practices and guidelines while executing tasks.
- Ensure cleanliness of grow rooms, both during and after the growing cycle
- Operate and calibrate environmental monitoring equipment (e.g., environmental sensors, moisture meters)
- Report any environmental hazards or compliance risks to management promptly
- Calibrate and maintain pH and EC sensors on a routine maintenance schedule
- Clean reservoirs using a pressure washer to prevent microbial growth
- Report any environmental or plant health concerns to the IPM Manager
- Follow all safety and PPE guidelines according to OSHA, Illinois Department of Agriculture, and product label standards
- Monitor gauges, dials, environmental software, and other indicators to ensure proper growing conditions for all plants
- Assist with mechanical repairs on equipment, as needed
- Keep inventory and equipment records, as needed, and report to the supervisor.
- Administer correct handling, transporting, storage, and disposal procedures for chemicals
- Follow Revolution SOPs and report any deviations to management
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Minimum Education/Experience:
- Positive attitude, ability to follow directions, and desire to learn
- High school diploma, or equivalent, required
- Bachelor’s OR Associate’s degree in Horticulture, Plant Science, Agronomy, Environmental Science or related field (OR equivalent work experience) preferred
- Experience in HVAC, Automated Systems, or Plant Care Environment, preferably in cannabis cultivation or similar agricultural setting preferred
- General knowledge of tools, agricultural equipment, & sterile work environments
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to solve problems effectively and identify solutions quickly on your feet
- Demonstrated ability to record data accurately

Additional Requirements:
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
- Must possess valid state ID.
- Must be able to obtain, and maintain, state badging requirements in order to work in in cannabis industry (requires background check and state review).
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:
With or without reasonable accommodation, requires the physical and mental capacity to perform effectively all essential functions. In addition to other demands, the demands of the job include:
- Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 lbs to a minimum height of 5 feet and able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance.
- Must be able to work seated/standing as appropriate at workstations for extended periods, maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, and use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, pinch frequently/constantly to complete tasks.
- Must be able to tolerate strong odors in the workplace.
- May be exposed to dust, kief, cleaning chemicals, and fumes. Although systems are in place to remove these byproducts, there is still exposure to some degree.
- Must be able to work in rooms with bright light where eye protection is required.
- Must be able to work in rooms with moderate heat and humidity.
- Constantly exposed to moderate background noise due to environmental systems, equipment, and fans.
- Must be able to wear PPE as appropriate (eye, face, hand, arm, head, foot, body, fall protection), and able to be exposed to hot, cold, wet, or humid conditions while wearing PPE (95 degrees or greater).
- Must have visual acuity with/without job aids to perform activities such as: reading, viewing a computer terminal, visual inspection involving small parts/details. Clarity of vision at 20 ft or more in day and night/dark conditions.
- Must be able to speak and communicate verbally at conversation levels with co-workers, vendors, etc. (Moderate noise).
Work Schedule:
- 40+ hours weekly with flexible hours depending on department needs.
- Must be available to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Compensation/Benefits:
Pay Range based on experience: starting wage is $19/hr. Revolution's Full-Time Employees are eligible for benefit offerings for the following: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, HSA, PTO, and Matching 401k
