Accounting Assistant

Job Summary

We’re looking for a qualified Accounting Assistant to play a crucial supporting role within the Accounting Department. The role will be responsible for the accounting duties of specializing in CAM billings, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable for property management accounting operations. This will include working with accounting managers and accountants in setting up analysis files, researching balances, application of payments and various month-end close procedures.

The most successful people will have previous experience working in property accounting, be able to work with minimal supervision, detail-oriented, have strong analytical and organizational skill. This role will report directly to an Accounting Manager. They will work in an integrated and collaborative environment with members of the Accounting and Property Management departments.

Location: Hybrid: Los Angeles, CA or Costa Mesa, CA

Responsibilities:

  • Perform timely property management accounting tasks, including supporting managers and accountants, accounts receivable, accounts payables and Common Area Maintenance (CAM) team.
  • Assist with tenant account reconciliations and CAM administrative functions
  • Data entry, processing, application and review for remitted accounts receivables.
  • Review and allocate incoming invoices, vendor and property management inquiries, auto pay setup and property tax bill tracking for accounts payable.
  • Coordinate efforts with accounting department and other internal teams to support property management operations, including timely entry of tenant receivables, compiling data and creating templates, researching balances, correspondences, and responding to tenant inquiries, audits and ad-hoc requests.
  • Work with property management, accountants, managers and controller to meet reporting deadlines

Qualifications:

  • Experience in general accounting principles, property accounting and AR/AP Assist with tenant account reconciliations and CAM administrative functions
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills Review and allocate incoming invoices, vendor and property management inquiries, auto pay setup and property tax bill tracking for accounts payable.
  • Coordinate efforts with accounting department and other internal teams to support Excellent analytical, time management and organization skills
  • Team player
  • Intermediate knowledge in MS Office applications, such as Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Yardi experience preferred but not required
  • Must be located in Southern California 

Rexford Industrial's total reward plan includes a premier benefits package, bonus eligibility and long-term stock incentives. The expected hourly rate range for this role is $23.56 to $27.40 (annualized to $49,400 to $57,000), with a 10% discretionary annual bonus target and stock grant eligibility.*The actual hourly rate and total compensation offered depend on a variety of factors, which include, without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location where the job will be performed. The final hourly rate and total compensation will be described in any offer letter.

*These stock grants are subject to approval by the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors, are currently subject to vesting over a four-year period, with 25% of the grant vesting per year, and require continued employment on the grant date and each applicable vesting date. Actual bonus and stock grants are discretionary based on company and/or individual performance determined by Rexford Industrial in its sole discretion, and the amount of any such bonus and/or stock grant may be less or more than the targets (and may be zero).
