About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Engineering Director to manage and grow a team of exceptional software engineers and technical leaders, fostering a culture of high performance, innovation, and collaboration. You’ll play a key role in shaping the direction of our engineering organization as we scale and build cutting-edge financial technology.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of 25+ engineers and technical leaders, providing task planning, technical guidance, and hands-on support (e.g., code reviews) to ensure high performance.
• Drive technical and operational excellence among the team, defining key metrics and SLAs, and ensuring the team meets them through effective processes and monitoring.
• Foster a culture of empathy, innovation, and operational excellence, with a focus on delivering intuitive, user-centric products for both internal and external users.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, Data, and Operations teams to align engineering efforts with business priorities and key initiatives.
• Anticipate technical challenges and proactively lead efforts to address system performance, scalability, and service reliability as the platform grows.
• Participate in quarterly planning sessions to ensure alignment of engineering goals with business objectives and drive high-impact outcomes.
• Work with senior leadership to allocate resources effectively, ensuring the team has the tools, people, and infrastructure to meet objectives.

What we’re looking for on your CV

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, ideally in industries like fintech or SaaS, with a focus on security, scalability, and reliability.
• 5+ years of leadership experience, including managing and mentoring teams, guiding them through growth and change.
• Expertise in designing large-scale, cloud-based systems (GCP, AWS, etc.) and making architectural decisions that scale with business needs.
• Hands-on programming skills in modern languages (e.g., Python, Go, Java) with an understanding of best practices in code quality and performance.
• Proven success in delivering complex projects that align with both technical and business goals, meeting deadlines in fast-paced environments.
• Strong experience in cross-functional collaboration, working closely with Product, Design, and other teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to motivate teams and manage competing priorities.
• A strategic mindset with a pragmatic approach to balancing innovation with business objectives.
