Rhombus is seeking a QA Engineer who will design and execute manual and automated test plans and monitor the development process to ensure that the design and software adhere to company standards.
We move fast. Software delays are costly, so it's vital for releases to meet target dates and stay within budget. You’ll help us consistently meet deadlines by breaking up the development process into attainable testing goals and relaying any issues back to the development and product teams or leaders.
We’re seeking candidates who can make independent, deep technical contributions, while also working across multiple, fast-paced teams. Are you strong in writing automated and manual tests?
Candidates need to have outstanding verbal and written communication skills, which encompass presenting to product managers, software engineers, project managers, and customers. Software engineers with deep experience and understanding of testing groups and processes should apply.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in an innovative and fast paced environment. Able to fit in well within a startup environment.
- Proven track record of continual improvements in QA process, optimizing resources to reach business project goals.
- Strong self-starter mentality with agile methodologies experience. Must be used for short iterations of development and testing and changing business requirements.
- Document test cases, perform and document risk analysis. Record test progress and results.
- Code automated tests and create test plans.
- Develop standards and procedures to determine product quality and release readiness, and identify, isolate, and track bugs throughout testing.
- Drive innovation and streamline overall testing processes.
- Identify any potential problems that users might encounter, constantly iterate.
- Research and analyze product features being tested, research new tools, technologies, and testing processes, and review user interfaces for consistency and functionality
Qualifications
- At minimum Bachelor’s degree in software design, engineering, or computer science. Masters preferred.
- Proficient in Python programming or Javascript
- A solid understanding of the software development lifecycle, and ability to apply proven software methodologies to testing and to driving reductions in technical debt.
- Knowledge of software engineering practices, software automation and testing technology like Jmeter, Selenium, and Cypress
- At minimum 2 years’ experience in software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Background or prior experience at a technology company, SaaS firm, defense contractor, or in the startup environment
- Past experience with cloud computing and containerization (Docker) is preferred.
- Active Secret or TS/SCI clearance is encouraged to apply, but not required.
