Summary-
As the Assistant Manager, you will play a key leadership role in overseeing the daily operations of two restaurants onsite while supporting the General Manager in achieving overall business objectives. You will ensure exceptional guest experience by supporting the front-of-house operations, managing staff, and driving operational efficiency, all while upholding the company’s values and standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Collaborate closely with the General Manager to implement and execute strategic service goals and ensure the smooth operation of the restaurant.
- Oversee day-to-day restaurant operations, including managing the floor, staffing, and ensuring a high standard of guest service and satisfaction.
- Monitor and evaluate operational performance, offering solutions and improvements in service quality, efficiency, and guest experience.
- Implement and uphold company policies, procedures, and best practices that promote operational excellence and a positive workplace culture.
- Communicate effectively with staff, ensuring clear, open, and transparent communication across all shifts and areas of the restaurant.
- Lead by example, modeling exemplary service standards and ensuring staff are consistently trained and equipped to meet company expectations.
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing training programs to ensure team members are knowledgeable about the menu, wine list, and service standards.
- Supervise and guide staff development, performance management, and retention strategies to maintain a motivated and skilled team.
- Oversee administrative tasks such as payroll, scheduling, and end-of-day cashouts and reporting, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Maintain inventory and ordering procedures, ensuring adequate stock levels while adhering to budgetary constraints.
- Support the General Manager in developing and executing marketing initiatives, events, and wine tastings in collaboration with the wine shop and events team.
- Ensure adherence to local health regulations and company policies in all operations, including compliance with food safety standards and alcohol service.
- Assist in the overall management of front-of-house (FOH) operations, ensuring staff morale, performance, and operational goals are met.
- Address and resolve operational issues, guest complaints, and staff concerns in a timely and effective manner, maintaining high service standards.
- Provide additional support as needed to ensure the smooth operation of both administrative and operational functions.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Humble – enthusiastic to master every position in the restaurant.
- Experience with managing staff schedules, payroll, and financial reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high standard of guest satisfaction.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make effective decisions under pressure.
- Ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships with staff, management, and other departments.
- Self-motivated and adaptable to a dynamic and evolving work environment.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in a full-service restaurant management role. Experience in managing day-to-day operations of a high-volume restaurant and a strong understanding of operational efficiency.
- Education:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- A degree in Hospitality Management or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with Tock system is a plus, must be tech savvy.
- Flexibility: Must be willing to work weekends.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods of time and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Industry Knowledge: Proficient wine knowledge is required; WSET or CSS certifications are preferred.
- Certifications:
- Valid RBS/ABC certificate required.
- ServSafe certification required, with knowledge of LA Department of Health codes relevant to food service.
- Hygiene Standards:
- Must adhere to proper hygiene and cleanliness practices at all times.
- A professional appearance and grooming standard must be maintained.

Pay Range
$68,000 - $78,000 USD
