San Antonio Winery Tasting Room Lead

Summary- Reporting directly to the Tasting Room Manager, the Tasting Room Lead Associate plays a key role in driving wine sales and delivering an outstanding brand experience. This position ensures top-tier hospitality, customer service, and in-depth product knowledge. The Lead Associate also collaborates closely with the Tasting Room Manager to delegate tasks and oversee the daily operations of the Tasting Room team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Greet and engage visitors in the Tasting Room, providing personalized wine tasting experiences.
- Ensure each guest has a memorable visit and leaves with a strong, positive impression of the winery and its wines.
- Describe wines accurately, highlighting unique characteristics, winemaking techniques, and winery history.
- Demonstrate knowledge of wines, vineyards, the winery’s brand, and philosophy; serve as an internal resource for Tasting Room Associates.
- Uphold and project the highest standards of hospitality and customer service at all times.
- Address and resolve customer concerns efficiently or direct concerns appropriately to the Tasting Room Manager or senior leadership.
- Handle all sales transactions accurately using the Point-of-Sale (POS) system; process returns, apply discounts, and reconcile daily sales.
- Open and close the Tasting Room.
- Assist in planning and executing winery-hosted events and other functions.
- Represent the winery professionally at offsite tastings and events as required.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Tasting Room Manager.
Qualifications:
- Possesses professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
- Is flexible, can manage constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must be able to work weekends and flexible schedules.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to effectively stock wine and non-wine merchandise, set-up and break down structures, tables, etc., and be able to utilize dolly cart and other equipment to assist in moving heavy objects.
Pay Range
$23 - $25 USD
