Lab Technician

Summary- We are seeking both part-time and full-time Lab Technicians to join our dynamic lab and cellar team. This role encompasses various aspects of winery production, including laboratory analysis, bottling, and cellar operations, contributing to our commitment to quality and innovation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Current duties may be changed if the job requires and/or additional duties may be assigned if necessary.
- Perform daily fermentation checks (Brix/temperature), during harvest season.
- Collecting and process lab samples
- Conduct lab analysis (pH, TA, enzymatic testing, WineXRAY)
- Calibrate and maintain lab equipment
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the lab and production areas
- Communicate effectively with the winemaking and lab teams
- Ensure accurate and detailed record keeping
- Perform routine chemical tests on juice, and wine samples, including Brix, pH, Total Acidity (TA), Free and Total SO₂, alcohol content, and other parameters as specified.
- Accurately enter analytical results into Vintrace.
- Ensure timely and precise record-keeping for quality control and compliance purposes.
- Assist in the formulation and planning of wine blends, fining treatments, filtrations, and other processing steps, coordinating with the winemaking team to achieve desired wine profiles.
- Provide quality control during bottling operations, including monitoring fill levels, vacuum and cork integrity, and performing sterility checks to ensure product quality and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Manage the procurement and inventory of laboratory chemicals and reagents.
- Assist in the preparation and addition of inoculants, fining agents, and other additives as directed by the winemaking team, following established protocols and safety.
- Assist with dry goods inventory management (corks, labels, etc.)
Qualifications:
- Education: Pursuing or holding a degree in Enology, Chemistry, or a related field
- Familiarity with winemaking programs (Vintrace) is advantageous
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable working long shifts on your feet in a physically demanding environment
- Excellent attention to detail with a strong sense of urgency and time management
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to complete tasks in a timely manner
- Maintain a positive attitude and be able to work with a team

Pay Range
$21 - $24 USD
