Tier-Dott is seeking an experienced Electronic Design Engineer to join our in-house development team based in Amsterdam. We work on cutting-edge technology solutions that aim to transform mobility for good. In this role, you will have a unique opportunity to see your work directly impact how people commute in cities. Designing shared mobility vehicles involves solving challenging engineering problems, balancing durability, ease of use, and cost.
The electronics integrated into our products and vehicles are designed to enhance user experience and enable efficient business operations.
As part of this role, you will work within our IoT team, which is responsible for delivering best in class IoT solutions for micromobility. The primary focus will be on integrating and developing next-generation communication and localization hardware to precisely control and monitor vehicle performance, with real-time reporting to our cloud services.
This position is based in Amsterdam.
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide technical input to shape the Hardware architecture, taking into account Business needs & product requirements.
- Evaluate components and modules to assess their performance in proof-of-concept prototypes.
- Design schematics in collaboration with the broader electronics team.
- Layout complex circuit boards with a mix of RF, high-speed, power electronics and analog interfaces.
- Design electronics for EMC compliance and hardware reliability.
- Facilitate peer design reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve designs.
- Perform board bring-up to verify feature functionality and performance working alongside the embedded software team.
- Prepare production/manufacturing packs and develop the necessary documentation for Contract Manufacturers and Prototype houses.
- Lead meetings with suppliers to ensure project timelines are met.
- Specify manufacturing jigs, production tools, and instructions for subcontractors, for production volumes of over 100,000 units per year.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in Electronic Engineering
- Proven track record in designing products for high-volume production and EMC compliance for RED directive.
- Proficiency with Altium Designer and collaboration tools
- Experience with RF technologies such as LTE, GPS, BLE and/or NFC.
- Preferably, experience on EMC testing & troubleshooting EMI problems.
- Preferably, good understanding of the physics and principles of electromagnetism and antenna theory
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in consumer electronics industries.
- Experience with communication, IoT, wearable, or transportation devices.
- Experience on PCB & HDI design.
- Willingness to travel.
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Electronic Engineering
