Role Overview:
The Associate Consultant is an entry-level support role within the Managed Services team. This position provides front-line operational and client service support for a cloud-hosted financial data platform used by institutional clients for trading and portfolio analysis. The Associate Consultant is responsible for monitoring system performance, responding to client requests, triaging issues related to data and UI, escalating technical problems, and appropriately documenting FAQs.
Key Responsibilities:

Client Operations & Support
a. Serve as the first point of contact for client queries via ticketing systems, email, or internal channels.
b. Conduct initial investigation of client-reported issues, particularly around data discrepancies, SQL views, UI behavior, and access rights.
c. Escalate platform bugs, infrastructure issues, or complex SQL problems to consultants or engineering teams following standard escalation protocols. -
Platform & Data Monitoring
a. Monitor health and availability of data pipelines, database processes, and UI endpoints within the Azure-hosted infrastructure.
b. Use internal dashboards and monitoring tools to identify service degradation, timeouts, or failed jobs.
c. Log and track alerts, ensuring timely resolution or escalation. -
Data Validation & Maintenance
a. Run daily and intraday checks on client data deliveries and platform sync processes.
b. Validate accuracy and completeness of trade, position, and reference data using SQL queries and prebuilt validation scripts.
c. Support standard data reloads, view refreshes, or ad hoc extracts for client teams. -
Change & Release Support
a. Assist in UAT testing of new platform features, bug fixes, and configuration changes.
b. Validate that key workflows and data views function correctly post-deployment.
c. Document test results and raise issues as needed. -
Documentation & Knowledge Capture
a. Maintain accurate documentation of known issues, troubleshooting steps, and client configurations.
b. Contribute to internal playbooks, runbooks, and how-to guides as new scenarios arise. -
Learning & Development
a. Participate in training on the platform architecture, SQL scripting, data schemas, and UI workflows.
b. Shadow senior team members during client calls and post-incident reviews.
c. Build familiarity with financial instruments, trade lifecycle events, and portfolio structures over time.
Tools & Technologies:
- Databases: Azure SQL Database, Snowflake (if used downstream)
- Technologies: Basic SQL querying, Oracle, SQL, Python, Java, SQL Server, DBMS, GitHub
- Monitoring: Azure Monitor, custom dashboards, alerting tools
- Ticketing & Collaboration: Jira, ServiceNow, Confluence, MS Teams, SharePoint
- UI Support: Internal client-facing UI for trade/portfolio analytics
Skills & Attributes:
- Basic understanding of SQL and relational database concepts
- Analytical mindset with attention to data quality and accuracy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Client-service oriented and calm under pressure
- Willingness to learn financial services domain and technical troubleshooting skills
Work Experience:
- 0–2 years in a relevant field
