The Opportunity
The Content team acts as the gatekeeper for all third-party communications with Rimes’s 800 information providers on behalf of our 400 end clients. The team manages key relationships with a huge and varied international group of information providers.
The Content Analyst’s role is vital to the Rimes infrastructure. Reporting to the Data Content Manager, they ensure that Rimes’s end clients can access a complete catalogue of benchmark data with the most accurate regulatory information and index identifiers. The Content Analyst is responsible for identifying and correcting data gaps impacting our Foundational Data products covering ETF and ESG data, connecting with team members and other departments to seek information and prioritize issues meaningfully. During the process, it is the Content Analyst’s responsibility to ensure that Rimes users are kept informed on the progress of any escalated issues.
The role requires a technically oriented person, someone who enjoys sticking to issues until they are fully resolved and uses creative thinking to find simple solutions. The candidate must be able to work on multiple projects at the same time and be proactive in the validation of work completed. The ideal candidate for this role must also be able to demonstrate a good understanding of index data and a degree of experience in data analysis using advanced Excel functionalities.
Other desirable qualities include MS Excel skills. Experience working with Python and SQL are advantageous to the role.
The role is open to fresh graduates or with 0-2 years work experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the suite of Rimes Foundational Data covering Benchmark & Indices, ETF, and ESG data
- Identify, analyse and resolve metadata gaps, creating new data content and mapping records across databases
- Supporting the maintenance and growth of the Rimes index catalogue, adding new records, and maintaining database integrity
- Proactively maintain and keep up-to-date documentation of processes and procedures and communicate changes to the wider team
- Identify areas of improvement in existing processes and collaborate with team members to achieve greater efficiency and scalability
Required Qualifications:
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Experience working with, querying, and manipulating large datasets
- Strong analytical thinking skills to interpret data, identify patterns, and support informed decision-making
- Intermediate MS Excel Skills (Match, Index, Lookup formulas, Pivot Tables)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
- Ability to work within a team as well as independently
- Desire to learn modern technology and grow in an ever-changing environment
- Fluency in English
Preferred Qualifications:
- Sound working knowledge of financial spreadsheets and financial databases and applications
- Knowledge and understanding of equity and fixed income indices
- Familiarity with Benchmarks & Indices, Exchanges, ESG, and ETF data
- Understanding of globally recognized identifiers used in the financial markets for recognition and identification of tradable securities, such as SEDOL, ISIN, CUSIP, OpenFIGI and Exchange Tickers
- Familiarity with financial regulations, such as Benchmark Regulation (BMR), MiFID II and MAR
- Multilingual proficiency is advantageous, but not required
- Basic knowledge of Python and SQL
