We're seeking a security enthusiast who is passionate about learning and practicing security in an enterprise environment. The selected candidate will join an amazing security engineering team and work with one of two different security arms: Systems Security and Application Security. The selected candidate will also have opportunities to work cross-functionally across other arms like Product Security, Cloud Security, and Detection & Response.

What we are looking for in you 

  • In the process of receiving a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Information Systems (CSI), Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering and  Cybersecurity

  • Have a strong foundation in security, e.g. computer security, network security, application security and cloud security.  

  • Any security related degree, projects, or certifications is a plus.  

  • Familiarity with any security tools e.g. nmap or Kali Linux is a plus.  

  • Previous internship or work experiences related to security is a plus.

  • Basic knowledge of Windows, MacOS, or Linux security fundamentals

  • Exposure to systems administration or similar technical experience

  • A curiosity about current cybersecurity threats and trends, with a desire to learn how attackers execute campaigns

  • An eagerness to take on challenges across diverse disciplines in the field

  • An introductory understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.) or an interest in learning more

  • Familiarity with programming basics and devops concepts (CI/CD pipelines, containerization technologies) is a plus

  • Basic knowledge of static application security testing (SAST) and Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST)

  • Familiar with common web application vulnerabilities

  • Curious to learn more about web application penetration testing.

  • Have a minimum of one quarter/semester remaining in university studies after the internship concludes. Graduation date in Fall 2025 or Spring 2026

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States. Company sponsorship may be available for eligible candidates applying for certain roles.

MongoDB internships are full-time (40 hours/week) for 10 consecutive weeks lasting from dates in June until August. All interns are considered hybrid employees, designated the "in office" working model and are expected to be in their office location 3-5 days a week.

Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package. Other benefits for eligible employees may include: equity, participation in the employee stock purchase program, flexible paid time off, 20 weeks fully-paid gender-neutral parental leave, fertility and adoption assistance, 401(k) plan, mental health counseling, access to transgender-inclusive health insurance coverage, and health benefits offerings. Please note, the base salary range listed below and the benefits in this paragraph are only applicable to U.S.-based candidates.

MongoDB’s base salary range for this role in the U.S. is:
$66,560.00 - $96,096.00 USD
