Impact
The Social Media intern will assist with all day-to-day social media efforts with the goal of fostering a loyal online community of Shipt enthusiasts. Social Media at Shipt leverages insights and cultural trends to help shape transformational creativity at Shipt and drive brand awareness, favorability, and buzz in service of business growth. This role is responsible for social media publishing, curating content from shoppers and consumers, engaging 1:1 with followers, and helping with real-time content ideas.
The ideal candidate will bring experience in social media across Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and Linkedin. This person is someone who lives and breathes Social, has experience with social media monitoring and community management, and is a flexible team player with a positive attitude.
How You’ll Spend Your Summer

Content Ideation & Creation: Brainstorming content ideas, monitoring emerging trends, seasonal moments, and worldly events as it relate to social media while looking through the Shipt lens, producing creative briefs and overseeing actionable items needed for execution, actively collaborating and contributing with the broader Creative team

Content Curation: Curate both user and shopper-generated content across all channels and community groups

Publishing & Quality Check: Help manage the editorial calendar timelines, flight of content, and scheduling of posts weekly, publish and/or schedule all content across (Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, Pinterest, Twitter, Linkedin, etc.), ensuring all asset crops, post copy, tags, etc. are accurate per each channel

Community Management & Engagement: Actively monitor and proactively engage with consumers across all channels (Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, Pinterest, YouTube, Twitter, Linkedin, etc.) in the brand’s tone of voice. Look for opportunities to create 1:1 relationships with fans through conversations and surprise and delight mailers.
What You’ll Need to Be Successful

Pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Advertising, etc or similar

Be a creative problem solver and blue sky thinker, innovating around interesting ways to grow the Shipt brand, versus relying on the expected playbook.

Be a team player with a resilient attitude and a proven ability to manage multiple projects on tight deadlines efficiently.

Photography, videography, digital content creation experience
“Nice-to-Have” Skills

Basic knowledge of social media platforms and best practices, tools, and analytics for the following platforms: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn.

Analytic skills and ability to relate results to our key business goals.

Copywriting skills, including writing engaging copy under time pressure.

Experience with creative, video editing and/or content creation is a plus

Working knowledge of Google Docs, Zoom, Slack, and Wrike – these are the primary tools you’ll be using for all of your work at Shipt.
Work Arrangement
This is a full-time hybrid Summer 2025 Internship for those based around Birmingham, AL, with remote options for those outside of our office locations. Our program will run for 10 weeks, beginning on Monday, June 2, 2025, and ending on Friday, August 8, 2025. All interns will maintain a consistent, full-time work schedule and participate fully in program activities.
Shipt considers candidates located near a Shipt office or workspace in Birmingham, San Francisco, or Minneapolis to be hybrid, which means that they have the flexibility to work from home (with leader approval) or at a Shipt office in order to facilitate the ability to innovate, collaborate, and spark team connections. In-office expectations will vary by role and leader.
