Your Impact

The Legal and Public Affairs Team at Shipt is looking for a Corporate Communications intern to join us this summer! This team helps build, bring to life, and protect Shipt’s corporate reputation through creative positioning strategies to demonstrate to the public Shipt’s values and business practices. 

You will gain practical experience supporting teams across many functions within the company to help tell the stories of their work, and ensure that stakeholders are aware and can champion the work being done across Shipt.  

How You’ll Spend Your Summer:

  • Support with storytelling Shipt’s social impact and food security work through newsroom content, social media, and internal communications channels

  • Assist with media relations by writing first-draft newsroom stories, building media lists, and helping with local media pitches 

  • Partner with the Government and Public Affairs teams to coordinate grassroots efforts for social impact work and develop compelling collateral for shopper stories 

  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to identify and understand opportunities to amplify work

  • Work alongside our PR and Public Affairs agency to help manage projects, build out deliverables, and develop strategy 

  • Support with internal storytelling by drafting content for the company intranet and enterprise-level messaging (Slack) 

  • Monitor key industry news and media updates, flagging key coverage and mining story ideas 

  • Collaborate with shopper facing operations teams to draft messaging, Q&As and real-time incident support

What You’ll Need to be Successful:

  • Pursuing a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Advertising, etc. (or related)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • Strong project management skills with comfort and experience in being nimble as things arise 

  • Attention to detail, especially when it comes to grammar, voice, and tone

  • Experience collaborating professionally with strong interpersonal skills

 

Work Arrangement

This is a full-time hybrid Summer 2025 Internship. Our program will run for 10 weeks, beginning on Monday, June 2, 2025, and ending on Friday, August 8, 2025. All interns will maintain a consistent, full-time work schedule and participate fully in program activities. 

Shipt considers candidates located near a Shipt office or workspace in Birmingham, San Francisco, or Minneapolis to be hybrid, which means that they have the flexibility to work from home (with leader approval) or at a Shipt office in order to facilitate the ability to innovate, collaborate, and spark team connections. In-office expectations will vary by role and leader.
