Hourly Range: $24.81- $35.19

Location:  Quincy, WA, Onsite

How would an intern contribute to the team’s success: 

The intern executing this project could develop a framework to mitigate a production issue of significance to the organic agriculture industry. 

 

An example of a typical project would be:

We have a specific project in mind that would involve evaluating historical wind/weather patterns, historical testing results and field locations to determine likely sources of potential or actual low-level contaminants in herbal crops and to recommend mitigation strategies for reducing environmental contaminants of concern on GAO organic farms in the Columbia Basin. 

 

Required skills and background: 

  • Desired Major: Biological Systems Engineering with emphasis on agricultural systems; Weed Science; Agricultural related fields

  • Desired Class Year: junior, senior, master’s candidates

  • Desired Skills: Data modeling, agronomy, environmental contaminant analysis, weather/climate assessment, statistics, GIS
