The Durables COE is a global team of Engineers (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Packaging, Firmware, Reliability) with a focus on designing, delivering, and sustaining high-quality water, air and cooking products that support living in a Healthy Home (air purifier, water purifier, cookware, kitchen knives, etc.). Our products are designed in Michigan, sourced throughout the globe, and manufactured at our factory in China. The brands we support are leaders within the global air and water purification markets. Our team works with global cross-functional partners within Marketing, Procurement, Project Management, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain Planning, Technical Regulatory, and Manufacturing.
How would an intern contribute to the team’s success:
This position will include collaboration with other Engineers and cross-functional partners, with a focus on mechanical parts and assemblies used in our electromechanical products (air and water purification systems). The collaboration would include evaluating, testing, and modifying part designs to ensure intended requirements are met and will involve support, guidance, and mentoring from within our global team of experienced Engineers.
An example of a typical project would be:
Projects will primarily focus on the development of mechanical parts and assemblies to support our existing product designs, as well as next-generation designs of our products. Responsibilities may also include internal and cross-functional process improvements aimed at driving efficiency and cost reduction within global processes.

Desired Major: Mechanical Engineering/Technical Sciences/Physics

Desired Class Year: Junior

Desired Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office, experience designing in CAD desired, experience with CREO and modeling software helpful. Ability to effectively collaborate and work in a fast-paced environment. Effective analytical and communication skills.
