The Team & Role
The HVACR Application Engineering team provides technical support to OEM customers to ensure that Copeland compressors are applied in a safe, efficient, and reliable manner. The AE team works cross functionally with sales, engineering, marketing, quality, and operations. The HVACR Application Engineering Intern will lead and/or support special projects including: customer sample support & metrics, system testing at DSN, deep dive into EVI thermodynamic benefits, deep dive into variable speed tools, HMI, programming, and troubleshooting. These projects will have direct impact on product adoption and sales growth.
Key Responsibilities & Your Day-to-Day

Assist with customer samples and special compressor builds with instrumentation

System testing – refrigeration circuitry, controls development, and performance

Application Engineering bulletin maintenance

Variable speed drive interface training and programming
What You Bring
Enrolled in an engineering or engineering technology course of study, preferably HVACR Engineering. Knowledge of thermodynamics, controls, writing sequence of operation, technical writing, and some hands-on experience is preferred. Must have experience with Microsoft Office applications.
Minimum Qualifications

Currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering Technology, Controls Engineering, or related field

Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher

Anticipated Graduation of December 2026 or May 2027

Legal authorization to work in the United States – Sponsorship will not be provided for this role
