About Rise8 Growth
At Rise8, the Solutions Architect plays a critical role in our mission to deliver transformative outcomes and drive growth through technical excellence. In this dynamic role, you will shape the vision and architecture for complex software and platform solutions that meet government mission needs while enabling speed, security, and scale. You’ll bridge the gap between engineering execution and customer strategy—owning the technical aspects of pre-capture, proposal, and delivery solutioning. Your work will span leading discovery sessions, designing architectures, creating technical narratives, and supporting orals and prototype demonstrations. Collaboration across Growth, Product, and Engineering teams is essential to craft holistic solutions that deliver mission outcomes. We are looking for technical leaders who thrive on learning, influencing, and building trust through clarity and competence. This is a demanding yet rewarding position that offers the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to our objectives and directly shape the future of government technology.
As a Solutions Architect at Rise8, you will:
Own the end-to-end technical solutioning process that brings Rise8’s value to life for our customers. You’ll blend deep engineering expertise with storytelling and strategy, connecting the dots between customer needs, technical feasibility, and mission outcomes. You will lead pre-capture and proposal solutioning efforts, support business growth through technical credibility, and guide delivery teams toward successful execution of architectures you help define.
- Lead technical solutioning sessions with customers to translate mission needs into actionable architectures and delivery strategies.
- Scope engagements and frame delivery approaches that align with Rise8’s agile software delivery model.
- Conduct technical assessments and deep dives across applications, platforms, and data environments.
- Facilitate workshops or design sprints to uncover requirements, align stakeholders, and define solution boundaries.
- Write and review technical sections of proposals, including architectures, implementation plans, and engineering strategies.
- Develop prototypes, demos, or code samples to validate ideas and demonstrate technical feasibility.
- Participate in orals presentations, coding challenges, and customer discussions, demonstrating technical credibility and thought leadership.
- Advise clients on architectures, cloud platforms, and product strategies that enable scalability, resilience, and security.
- Collaborate with Growth Managers and Proposal Specialists to craft winning solution narratives and technical differentiators.
- Support technical hiring and mentorship, helping shape Rise8’s technical excellence across teams.
- Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and government modernization initiatives, applying them to solution design.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in software development, cloud engineering, or platform operations.
- Experience in pre-sales, technical consulting, or client-facing solution architecture roles, ideally within the government sector.
- Proven ability to design and communicate highly available, scalable, and compliant software architectures (APIs, load balancers, messaging systems, UIs, and databases).
- Proficient in one or more programming languages such as Java, Kotlin, or TypeScript.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into plain English.
- Hands-on experience with agile methodologies, TDD, CI/CD, and modern DevSecOps practices.
- Demonstrated ability to work across engineering and growth functions, bridging business outcomes and technical depth.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with AI/ML applications or developing internal tools that leverage AI to accelerate delivery.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and leading cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Understanding of DoD Impact Levels (IL2–IL7) and security frameworks such as NIST and RMF.
- Experience working with federal government clients (DoD, Civilian, or Intelligence).
- Strong record of contributing to technical capture strategies, white papers, RFIs, and RFPs.
- Background in platform, data, or application modernization efforts within the DoD or enterprise-scale systems.
- Ability to zoom in and build solutions hands-on, but also zoom out to architect and articulate the big picture.
- Deeply technical background combined with a passion for writing, teaching, and continuous learning.
- Proven ability to lead and collaborate across multiple disciplines and organizational boundaries.
- Track record of successful captures driven by technical storytelling and practitioner credibility.
