
Strategic Sourcing Manager

Overview
As the Strategic Sourcing Manager at Rithum, you'll play a critical role in driving our growth by strategically managing our indirect and direct commodities. You will lead sourcing initiatives aimed at achieving significant year-over-year cost savings, productivity improvements, and enhanced vendor performance while maintaining exceptional product quality and service levels. You will collaborate closely with internal business partners and external vendors, developing and implementing effective cost-reduction strategies and vendor relationship management practices. Reporting directly to the Sr. Manager, Strategic Sourcing & Procurement, you'll have broad visibility and the opportunity to impact numerous spend categories: SaaS, marketing, professional services, facilities, HR, and more.
Responsibilities
- Plan, source, and onboard new vendors, while optimizing relationships with existing partners, aligned with Rithum’s vendor strategy.
- Lead procurement projects and negotiations, ensuring effective and timely outcomes that deliver cost savings, mitigate risks, and maintain compliance.
- Maintain and continuously enhance Rithum’s ZIP procurement system, ensuring visibility into upcoming contracts and renewals.
- Improve supplier analytics to guide strategic decision-making, negotiations, and procurement activities.
- Manage vendor contract lifecycles with a proactive focus on continuous service improvements and expense reductions.
- Identify opportunities to improve procurement policies, procedures, and training materials that promote compliance and ease of use across internal teams, aligning with regulatory requirements (e.g., SOC-2, Data Privacy).
- Facilitate procurement processes in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders including security, privacy, legal, and IT.
- Conduct strategic sourcing events (RFPs/RFIs) to maximize value and select optimal vendor partnerships.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with executive leadership and cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment on sourcing strategies and procurement best practices.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing or procurement, including vendor management and contract negotiation.
- 5+ years of experience specifically managing vendor performance and renewals.
- Proven knowledge of procurement processes, policies, and systems.
- Experience in software/SaaS procurement and familiarity with indirect spend categories (e.g., Marketing, Travel, HR/Benefits, Facilities, Legal).
- Ability to analyze financial spend data, develop strategic commodity plans, and set realistic targets for cost savings and cost avoidance.
- Proficiency with procurement tools (e.g., ZIP, NetSuite) and willingness to learn and adapt to new procurement technologies.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and follow-through skills, capable of clearly conveying procurement strategies and processes to diverse internal and external audiences.
- Ability to confidently navigate high-pressure negotiations, balancing internal stakeholder expectations with strong external negotiation outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Prior experience with ZIP procurement software.
