Overview
As a Senior Manager, Accounting, reporting to the Senior Director, Accounting and Tax, you will be a key member of the finance team and responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the financial close and reporting. You will lead the month end close process and be responsible for journal entry review, account reconciliations, and a timely close. Additionally, you will perform balance sheet account analysis, lead month end internal reporting, support external audits, and handle management request/special projects. This role requires attention to detail, deep accounting expertise, leadership abilities, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement. The successful candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams possessing organizational skills, a “can do” attitude, and a willingness to roll up their sleeves to ensure timely and accurate delivery of the work product required from the Finance function. This role requires someone to work standard business hours (8am - 5pm) East Coast or Central Time.
Responsibilities
- Lead the month-end accounting close process, including reviewing journal entries and review of account reconciliations across areas such as cash, payroll, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, capitalized software, and accrued expenses.
- Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of internal financial reporting including adjusted EBITDA, adjusted P&Ls, lender reporting requirements, and KPIs.
- Become a subject matter expert on general ledger structure including cost segments (COR, Opex), allocations, and business unit segments.
- Oversee daily cash account transactions, collaborating with accounts receivable and accounts payable, to ensure effective operations.
- Manage cash application, capitalized software, and fixed asset accounting processes, ensuring compliance with company policies and accurate reconciliation to the general ledger.
- Support external audits by providing accurate and timely information.
- Develop and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and controls to maintain compliance and operational efficiency.
- Provide mentorship and leadership to accounting team members, fostering growth and collaboration.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, cooperation, cross functional inclusion, execution excellence, effective communication and cross-functional problem-solving to become a high-performing team
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- 8+ years of relevant accounting experience at a similar sized, fast-paced PE owned OR publicly traded company.
- 3+ years of experience managing a team of three or more individuals.
- Strong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience managing and improving accounting processes and collaborating across teams.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work Standard business hours (8am - 5pm) East Coast or Central Time.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Prior Netsuite ERP experience and Floqast experience
- CPA preferred
- At least 3 years of public accounting experience preferred
