Rival Technologies – Marketing Summer Intern 2025

We are looking for a Marketing Intern to join our growing team, reporting into the Chief Marketing Officer. This role will support a small but mighty marketing and sales team, bringing in new ideas and viewpoints on how the team can better utilize existing marketing platforms and sales channels to increase customer reach and organize content data. This position is based in Vancouver and you’ll be expected to work twice a week from the office.

Rival Technologies is solving a massive problem in the research industry by creating Community 2.0, an insights community platform using chat-based tech and conversational approaches. We engage with consumers via organic mobile messaging-based solutions to capture rich, in-the-moment qual/quant human insights at scale.

We’re one of Vancouver’s fastest growing tech companies and one of the most disruptive players in the research and insights space.  As a Marketing Intern for the summer, you’ll get to have a hand on impactful and interesting programs and campaigns. This internship will begin in June 2025 and will run for the summer until August 2025 (start and end dates can be flexible depending on the academic calendar of your program). This internship will pay $20 CAD per hour.

This internship is the perfect opportunity for someone tech-savvy, results-driven and ambitious who wants to experience many areas of marketing.  

What You'll Do:  

Digital Marketing 

  • Bring new ideas that will enhance our digital footprint (website, LinkedIn, social, SEO)—and bring them to life with guidance from our team.  
  • Identify opportunities to improve visibility, messaging consistency, and engagement. 
  • Track results and compare against industry and internal benchmarks. 
  • In close collaboration with demand marketing and graphic design, create copy and creative for paid search and paid social campaigns. 

Competitive Intelligence 

  • Monitor key competitors and emerging players across digital channels. 
  • Deliver a bi-weekly “Market Pulse” summary with highlights, trends, and implications. 
  • Keep the team informed on positioning shifts, content strategy, and messaging plays. 

Internal Communication 

  • Take ownership of our internal marketing resource hub (Intranet). 
  • Ensure assets (presentations, one-pagers, campaign content, etc.) are current and easy to access. 
  • Improve usability and keep internal stakeholders informed of updates. 

Content Marketing & SEO  

  • Write and publish 1–2 blog posts per month aligned with our keyword strategy. 
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to turn internal insights into engaging content. 
  • Support distribution by drafting snippets for social/email amplification. 

Team Efficiency  

  • Increase efficiency of the team by supporting some administrative tasks, identifying gaps, and documenting processes. 
  • Provide support for event initiatives as needed, including list building, logistics and research.  
  • Collaborate with team to research new products (especially AI-driven tools) that can help optimize our processes.  

Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a degree, specializing in Marketing 
  • Strong communication skills, especially a proficiency in writing
  • A desire to learn and try new things! 
  • Some sample of your work — blog articles, webpages, LinkedIn posts, TikTok videos, etc. Anything that shows off your creativity and ability to create valuable and engaging content for different audiences!   

Bonus Points If You Have 

  • Knowledge of HubSpot, Asana and AI tools 
  • Some experience in LinkedIn, Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, or simple video production for social media
