Job Summary

We’re seeking a compassionate and skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our team in a full-time hybrid role based in Albany, NY. This position starts virtually, with the expectation of transitioning to a hybrid format by the end of the year.

The Nurse Practitioner provides clinical Psychotherapy and Psychopharmacology services to patients through a primarily tele-health environment. Our practice leverages clinical experience and a diverse knowledge base to provide quality care and reliable service. This individual will utilize their expertise in Psychotherapy modalities and collaborate within a dynamic interdisciplinary team to foster continued learning and growth. Job Responsibilities & Qualifications

Employment Status: Full Time (32+ hours a week)

Work Environment: Hybrid in Albany, New York Area

Location: Start virtually, with a transition to Hybrid to support a partnership in the Albany city limits - In-person start to be determined at a later date

Expectation: 2 in-person days per week (with openness to more if mutually beneficial)

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent quality clinical care on a consistent basis that exemplifies Rivia Mind’s culture, values, and guiding principles  
  • Conduct comprehensive intake evaluations and develop curated patient-centered treatment plans
  • Provide appropriate Psychotherapy practices that leverage various modalities (CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, etc.) with proper Psychopharmacology prescribing practices  
  • Appropriately prescribe medication prescriptions & refills, considering the best judgment of the patient's well-being  
  • Provide clinical support & counseling to diverse patient populations in a telehealth environment  
  • Service and maintain a weekly average standard of 50 patients (25 or 45 minutes sessions)
  • Coach patients on how to manage ongoing health conditions and provide therapy to help patients make positive behavior changes  
  • Counsel and provide crisis intervention for patients, including assessment and treatment of emotional and behavioral problems  
  • Comply with clinical standards and adhere to timely and thorough session note documentation
  • Participation in Rivia Mind supervision groups, trainings and attendance of department and organization meetings
    • Weekly 1:1 meetings with your Supervisor
    • Weekly Group Supervision with a cohort of clinicians and a supervising Psychiatrist 
    • Weekly Clinical Training or Informative Discussions & Multi-Disciplinary Meetings
  • Promote a friendly work culture that encourages a fun, collaborative, and co-learning environment that benefits individuals' well-being, self-improvement, and potential
  • Perform other related role and team function duties as assigned by department and group leaders

Qualifications

Required Education Level: Masters Degree or higher

Education Details: Masters in Nursing 

Licensure/Certification Requirements

  • Must have New York License and DEA
  • Valid Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) / Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • PMHNP-BC: Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner - Board Certified
  • Active DEA License in good standing

Additional Qualifications, Skills & Attributes

  • At least one(1) year of post-licensure experience with solid competence in practicing Psychotherapy
  • Experience working with Patients in an Outpatient setting
  • Telehealth/telemedicine experience
  • Psychotherapy Modality experience (CBT, DBT, etc.)

Compensation & Employment Details

Pay Range: $125,000 - $140,000

Work Schedule

We collaborate with each provider to determine a mutually beneficial and sustainable schedule. Our focus is to develop a supportive schedule that meets both the needs of our patients and the providers' preferences. 

  • Our operating hours are M-F: 8 am to 8 pm and Saturday: 9 am to 5 pm.
  • Include at least four(4)+ hours within your schedule, which should be after 5 pm on a weekday or have hours on the weekend. 
  • On-call is not required, but checking and responding to emails on unscheduled days is required unless on PTO.
  • Having a consistent weekly schedule is necessary, but start and end times per day can be different each day of the week, as a set recurring schedule.

Your schedule will be determined with you before starting the role.

Occasional flexibility may be needed to accommodate patient needs or support the growth of your caseload—such as scheduling initial consultations, managing urgent concerns, coordinating care with the broader team, and completing other responsibilities.
