About the team + role
The Credit and Money Security team at Robinhood is dedicated to safeguarding our systems, data, and users while enabling secure and efficient innovation across the business. Our mission is to build resilient defenses that support the company’s ambitious goals without compromising trust or performance. We work cross-functionally with engineering, product, and operations partners and foster a team culture rooted in ownership, pragmatism, and continuous learning.
As a Senior Security Engineer, you’ll play a key role in proactively identifying and mitigating security risks across Robinhood’s Credit and Money platforms. You will collaborate directly with engineers and business stakeholders to understand the technical and operational landscape, evaluate risk, and design scalable, high-impact security solutions. This is a unique opportunity to influence security posture at a critical intersection of our business.

What you’ll do
- Conduct comprehensive security assessments for new products and features, and provide actionable, risk-based recommendations.
- Partner with product and engineering teams to ensure robust security requirements are met from design through deployment.
- Investigate emerging security threats and contribute to strategies that improve Robinhood’s overall security posture.
- Build deep knowledge of the business and technology stack to become a subject matter expert in key domains.
- Leverage data to communicate trends, influence decisions, and guide the maturity of the security program.
What you bring
- Expertise in evaluating system and application architectures for security vulnerabilities and recommending mitigations.
- Experience leading or participating in secure code reviews and interpreting SAST/DAST results.
- Proficiency in securing cloud-native environments and navigating their unique threat models.
- An attacker’s mindset applied in a blue team context—anticipating adversaries and designing defenses accordingly.
- Strong data storytelling skills to influence and advocate for effective security decisions.

Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. This role is also eligible to participate in a Robinhood bonus plan and Robinhood’s equity plan. For other locations not listed, compensation can be discussed with your recruiter during the interview process.
