Senior Full-Stack Engineer (Flutter, Node.js, AWS) 

At Robots & Pencils, we’re looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer (Level 4) to help build and scale our next-generation health and wellness platform. You’ll work across the stack, delivering beautiful mobile experiences in Flutter, robust backend services in Node.js, and reliable infrastructure on AWS. 

This is a senior, hands-on role where you’ll contribute to architecture decisions, improve existing systems, and collaborate closely with a small, fast-moving team. You’ll also work with health-data integrations like Apple HealthKit, apply QA best practices, and leverage AI-forward tools (Claude, Windsurf, Cursor, etc.) to speed up development. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

• Build and maintain cross-platform mobile applications in Flutter 

• Develop secure, scalable backend APIs and services in Node.js 

• Contribute to system architecture and AWS cloud infrastructure 

• Review, refactor, and improve the existing codebase for performance and maintainability 

• Collaborate with product and engineering teammates in a fast-paced environment 

• Integrate Apple HealthKit and other health-data platforms 

• Apply QA practices and automated testing to ensure reliability 

• Use AI-powered development tools to improve velocity and consistency 

 

Required Skills & Qualifications 

• 5+ years of professional software development experience 

• Strong experience with Flutter and Node.js 

• Familiarity with AWS services and cloud-native architecture 

• Background in mobile app architecture and scalable systems design 

• Experience integrating with Apple HealthKit 

• QA mindset with experience in testing strategies 

• Comfortable working in startup-style, fast-moving environments 

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills 

• Passion for health and wellness technology 

• Upper-Intermediate English (written and spoken) 

 

Nice to Have 

• Experience with other wearable or health integrations 

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows 
• Previous experience mentoring junior developers
