Senior Technical Business Analyst (Canada only)

We’re seeking a Senior Technical Business Analyst who combines sharp analytical skills with strong technical acumen. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who thrives at the intersection of business strategy and technology delivery, ensuring that solutions not only meet stakeholder needs but are also scalable, efficient, and future-ready. 

This role is ideal for a candidate who is equally comfortable facilitating discovery workshops, writing detailed requirements, and collaborating with engineers on system design. You’ll be a critical link across business, design, and engineering teams, driving clarity and alignment from concept through delivery.

What You’ll Do 

Business Analysis & Requirements 

  • Lead discovery sessions to elicit, analyze, and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements. 
  • Translate stakeholder needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and use cases. 
  • Ensure requirements align with organizational goals, compliance standards, and technical feasibility. 

Technical Collaboration 

  • Partner with solution architects and engineers to design system integrations, APIs, and data flows. 
  • Create and maintain artifacts such as data mappings, interface specifications, and workflow diagrams. 
  • Act as a liaison to ensure both business and technical teams share a clear understanding of scope and priorities. 

Delivery & Execution 

  • Support backlog refinement, sprint planning, and user acceptance testing (UAT). 
  • Collaborate with QA teams to validate test coverage and participate in defect triage. 
  • Ensure solutions are testable, scalable, and aligned with CI/CD delivery pipelines. 

Leadership & Continuous Improvement 

  • Mentor junior analysts and contribute to BA practice standards, templates, and documentation. 
  • Advocate for process improvements, agile best practices, and modern tooling. 
  • Stay current with emerging tools, platforms, and methodologies to bring fresh perspectives to projects. 

 

Qualifications & Experience 

  • 7+ years of business analysis experience, with at least 3 years in a technical or systems-focused role. 
  • Proven experience leading analysis for enterprise-scale projects involving system integrations, data management, or SaaS platforms. 
  • Strong knowledge of APIs, databases, system architecture, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). 
  • Hands-on experience with Agile delivery frameworks and tools (Jira, Confluence, Lucidchart/Visio). 
  • Excellent facilitation, documentation, and stakeholder management skills. 
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience). 

Preferred 

  • Familiarity with SQL for data validation and analysis. 
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, or microservices. 
  • Professional certifications (CBAP, PMI-PBA, or Agile BA). 
  • Industry experience in financial services, healthcare, or other regulated domains.
