Senior Full-stack Engineer (Contentful CMS Architect)

Robots & Pencils is seeking a Full-stack Engineer (Contentful CMS Architect) to join a multi-disciplinary team building a modern, unified digital experience platform for a large multi-venue hospitality and entertainment organization.

We are looking for a Contentful CMS Architect to own the technical implementation of the information architecture that powers content delivery across mobile, web, and kiosk channels.

You’ll work closely with the lead architect, product lead, and integration teams to ensure content is structured, scalable, and optimized for headless delivery via Uniform (DXP/CDP). This role focuses on implementation and execution within Contentful and Uniform, rather than high-level content strategy, and is ideal for someone with strong CMS expertise and experience bridging business and technical requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and maintain Contentful content types, references, taxonomy, and locale structures
• Implement and optimize content models for headless delivery across mobile, web, and kiosk channels via Uniform
• Define and implement governance, best practices, and workflows for content editors
• Collaborate with the lead architect and product lead to align implementation with overall platform strategy
• Translate marketing and operational requirements into scalable, maintainable content structures
• Produce clear documentation for content models, naming conventions, and editorial workflows
• Assist the marketing team in adopting and understanding the CMS structure

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 2+ years hands-on Contentful experience in production environments
• Strong expertise in content modeling (types, references, rich text, linked entries, localization)
• Knowledge of headless delivery APIs (Delivery API, Preview API, GraphQL)
• Experience with DXP or personalization platforms (e.g., Uniform or similar), including content structuring for headless delivery
• Experience with multi-environment management and workflow configuration
• Strong information architecture skills, including content governance, asset referencing, and documentation
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills for cross-functional teams

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with MACH principles (Microservices, API-first, Cloud-native, Headless)
• Experience in hospitality, gaming, or retail content environments
• Basic GraphQL knowledge and localization/multi-language content architecture
