Product Manager

At Robots & Pencils, we build meaningful, scalable digital products that solve real business problems. We are seeking an experienced Product Manager to work embedded within cross-functional delivery teams, owning product execution across complex digital platforms. 

About the role 

Robots & Pencils has been engaged by a major online university to stand up an integrated AI Pod — an embedded, cross-functional delivery team building and deploying AI-enabled systems across institutional workflows. This is a high-visibility, high-velocity engagement with a client that is serious about AI transformation and moving fast. 
 
The pod operates as both a delivery unit and a reference model. What gets built here — the systems, the practices, the documentation patterns — becomes the blueprint the university replicates as it scales AI across the institution. 
 
We are looking for a strong Product Manager to serve as the operational core of the pod. This person will translate institutional priorities into executable sprint work, own stakeholder engagement, drive delivery decisions, and progressively build the client's internal product ownership capability over the course of the engagement. The role requires someone who is comfortable working in an embedded co-delivery model, can move quickly without a fully defined scope, and has hands-on experience with AI-enabled product development. 
 
Required Skills & Experience 

• 8-12 years in product management, forward deployment, or solutions engineering. 
• Strong understanding of agile delivery practices and product ownership responsibilities. 
• Experience shipping AI products from prototype through production at scale. 
• Deep GenAI fluency with hands-on experience building or shipping agentic systems. 
• Fluency in Cursor, Claude, Copilot 
• Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Figma, Claude AI, GitHub, and Cursor 
• Strong client communication and relationship management skills. 
• Strategic thinking paired with a pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset. 
• Consultative problem-solving and the ability to guide conversations beyond immediate deliverables. 
• Adaptable, calm under pressure, and comfortable navigating ambiguity. 
• High accountability, ownership, and follow-through. 
• Collaborative, outcome-driven, and user-centered.
